Re: 828 MkII Humming!

Thank you for that - I will try one of these days. Can I ask - when you opened it - did it seem the hum was from capacitor or from transformer?

(or maybe I should get another one - now the backlight for the LCD display is gone as well)

Aha finally someone else seems to be in the same boat as me :-( Also using the USB2 version, and on the same computer, with 64bit vista, can get 512 samples per buffer with windows XP, can get 256 samples per buffer (at 44100 sample rate) and on another computer (laptop, windows XP) can get 256 samp...

Cool!

Which size allen key did you use? (the set I have is either slightly too big or too small)

Do your 828's transformers make a soft buzzing noise?

I am using SP1. It seems to work. No new issues with my motu. (Old issues still exist. But I havent had time to repeat experiment to see MIDI latency). my set-up is described in an earlier post on this thread. I am using USB2 version, and am using the most recent driver from motu. I used to get weir...

using 828mk2, USB2 version 2gb memory vista 64 home premium driver version 3.6.8.1133 disappointed with audio latency (can only go down as low as 512 samples per buffer, = 11 ms latency). On windows XP, I can go down to 256 samples per buffer on the same computer but I would have thought that it wou...

I think before you choose 64 bit operating system, make sure you have drivers for all your hardware.

now... On Windows Vista x64, with my USB 828 mkii, the lowest 'samples per buffer' that the MOTU audio console allows me to choose is 512. On Windows XP, on a lesser (CPU/RAM) computer, with the same 828 mkii, the MOTU audio console allows me to choose 256 - which is half the latency! How is it that...

Apparently there is a known issue with specifically 4GB of RAM installed. It has been mentioned somewhere in these fora. I am using 2GB of RAM, on Vista 64 bit. Re: latency, I have no problems at 512 samples per buffer (=11.6 ms latency) however, I am a bit surprised, and disappointed that I can't u...

My 828 mkii is working fine with Vista 64 (I have 2GB ram installed, using the current drivers). However the difference is I'm using the USB version. My current wonderment is that the Motu audio console does not allow me to set a latency any lower than 512 samples per buffer.

USB motu 828 mkii, and minimun latency - help please?

I folks, I've noticed that (using Sonar, or the MOTU's audio console) I am unable to choose any sample buffer size less than 512 samples per buffer (which approximates to 11.6 ms latency). I've seen in various fora that people using the 828 mkii have tried lower settings e.g. 256, 128, etc (and desc...

I think that you can change between 44k1 and 48k via software; and 88k2 and 96k the same way, but to switch between the 44/48 and 88/96 sample rate, you need to exit your music software, and change the sample rate via the Motu audio console, then re-start your music application.

My current Roland & Edirol equipment don't make a single sound from their power transformer - no buzzing / humming. They power on, light up and do their job. The only way to get any sound out of them is to plug in the headphones or connect to some other mixer/monitors/etc or use them as percussi...

828 MkII - buzzing noise

On the subject of power supply transformer noise or buzz or humming, does anyone have a Motu unit, or specifically an 828 Mk II, that has absolutely no buzzing noise at all? If you do, what is your mains power frequency? 60Hz or 50Hz? Or do all of them have a soft buzzing noise, and a few have em an...
