Re: The Raven MTi2 Thread

I got farther through the setup video and got to play with it a bit on an existing project. Still trying to work out the best window arrangement. Previously I used the integrated window with mixer on bottom and sequences on top. And I upgraded to DP9 because - why not? The instructions said "mo...

Re: New string quartet library from Spitfire: Sacconi String

Totally with you on the guitar thing. I wish I played guitar. I wish I played better piano/organ. And I am happy to come over any time and play guitar for you on any project. I had so much fun last time. :D The denser the arrangement, the less it matters. There's also the fun part about synthesis wh...

How does this compare to Omnisphere 2?

Seems like the same kind of beast.

Re: New string quartet library from Spitfire: Sacconi String

The point is that the next big break in development of VIs will probably be a synthesis between an interface like Wallander's, and a library like VSL.[/b] It will probably require some kind of artificial intelligence to blend them together and to choose the right articulation for the right moment a...

Re: The Raven MTi2 Thread

My Mackie finally sold. The extenders went right away but I was wondering because for 3 weeks I got zero action on eBay. It sold for $635. I will never miss those things again. Mine + 3 extenders went all in one sale right away - even had a lil bidding war which left me a few bucks ahead in the end...

Re: The Raven MTi2 Thread

Of course, right after I post...I get a notification that mine just shipped. So now I just have to wait for it to ride the truck to San Diego.

Re: The Raven MTi2 Thread

I ordered mine around the last week in October and received it in December I believe the first week. Also from Sweetwater. That's annoying. I just checked my order email - Confirmed Oct 18. No I don't have it. All I get is "none have come in - Slate isn't supplying very many". Frustrating...

Re: The Raven MTi2 Thread

OK, I gotta ask - I ordered one from Sweetwater back in early November. I don't have it. I keep getting told they're on back order. Yes, I just called yesterday to ask again - they tell me they have shipped none of them - they claim Slate is way behind on the release. Where did you get yours from? W...

Re: El Capitan drops support for CoreAudio Firewire

Yosemite will probably be the end of the line for me if they continue to go the direction of locking down my computers. Of course the problem is Windows 10 seems to be going down a similar path, so we might have some rather bleak choices in a few years. So...DP for linux? They could probably salvag...

El Capitan drops support for CoreAudio Firewire

From this fine article : Apogee Electronics stating that its Ensemble hardware, an expensive and highly regarded audio interface, will not be supported on Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. This interface was discontinued less than three years ago and cost roughly $2,500 new. I own one. It used to be that w...

Re: He promised; He did it !

The need for a good general daw piece of controller hardware is out there. It is...and I concluded the Mackie MCU wasn't it. I like the faders and about three buttons on the transport control for jumping among markers, record, play, forward, back. That was it. I put the thing on ebay and it sold to...

Re: Mixer Control Surface for Mixing in DP

FWIW, I've just listed my Mackie MCU + 3 Extenders. 32+1(master) faders.

They are up on ebay right now. Seek and ye shall find em.

Hopefully I didn't just breach a 'no gear ads' policy. If I did - :sorry:

Re: He promised; He did it !

Wow...I spent more than that on MCU+3x. And this thing is way cooler.

I wonder what the MCU resale is gonna net me.

I'm sold.

Re: El Capitan GM Candidate: A-OK with DP 9.01.

For those with older Mac Pros, this may be of interest… http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/06-07-mac-pro-1-1-2-1-and-os-x-el-capitan.1922266/ Wow. I still have my 1,2 (I took it home and setup a mini studio there when I upgraded the one at my studio) but haven't done the mod to run anything newer ...
