Maungarei for saxes, organ, viola and basses

This is a piece that I did a lot of the editing for in DP, notably the organ an Ondes Martenot parts. The studio was a Protools affair which caused a bit of frustration switching back and forth, but it got finished. The mixing was done with a Neve analog summing mixer.

Re: Dorico - An Ongoing Journey

I've just completed a first project using Dorico, a new duo just a few pages long, but has probably been a good way to start getting familiar with how Dorico works. Changing time signature en route while composing seems a breeze. I needed to modify and older project I'd done with Sibelius (a string ...

Re: Which OS?

Thanks for the welcome back "666", it's true I haven't posted much recently, but have been dropping in to read what's goin' on. Thanks mikehalloran for that info. I got Dorico recently then realised it needs Mavericks or later to run, so I think I've almost got the courage to update to Sie...

If DP 7.24 is already installed on an i5 machine running OSX10.7.5 is this version of DP likely to keep running if the OS is upgraded directly to Sierra?

Re: 15 million floppies

Just before seeing this topic I'd dug out my old Professional Composer Master Disk and popped it in the 3.5" drive of an old G3 (Power PC) with OS 9.0.4 that I still have, but it wasn't recognizable. I'm trying to convert some files for someone but think I need a much older machine - Mosaic had...

Re: Professional Composer -

Hi, I still have a working copy on a computer. Someone was in the same situation a while back but I couldn't get their file to open transferring via email then copying to a memory USB stick, but I could try for you with a test file.

Re: How to make "score videos"

Hi Joel, that's a great piece you posted there!
I'd like to know also a good solution to do the score videos. So far I've just used iMovie, and managed with that although syncing up the changes didn't seem so efficient or accurate.
I'm enjoying listening to your Viola Concerto right now.

Re: String Quartet

Thanks for posting, that was very interesting. Superb performance. I didn't see any other mics than what you've mentioned. I think that having the violist on the right in combination with the three standing players allows them to be as close as possible to each other as they could be, hence also opt...

Re: Scanning into finale help needed

It involved exporting as an .ps file (I don't think there was a save to pdf option). I then transferred the .ps file via a memory stick from one computer (OS 9.04) to the other (OSX). It took a while to find the settings that worked, but I have it written down somewhere and should be able to dig it ...

Re: Scanning into finale help needed

As you've mentioned Mosaic and PDF, if you still have a working copy of Mosaic on an old computer it is possible to get them to PDF on OSX without a scanner. At the time it took me some time to figure out the procedure, but just thought I'd mention that.

Re: What's up with Steinberg and Notation?

Question: Is there a site where I can download some scores or sheet music to test the latest Scorch plugin? PD preferred. I have no current needs at SheetMusic+ to purchase anything in the format. Not a big deal as I'm not getting rid of the G4 anytime soon. The Sibelius chat page is still very act...

Re: What's up with Steinberg and Notation?

Chris, I found (rather easily) Daniel's announcement just before signing off, in fact it was the end of September 2012: http://www.sibeliusblog.com/news/sibelius-7-1-3-update-now-available/

Re: What's up with Steinberg and Notation?

By the way Sibelius has not left Avid. That was all a Internet rumour. I asked avid about it when I had to re register Sibelius 7 on the phone because of a migrating computer issue. The tech said its all un true about Sibelius leaving Avid. They have even released updates since the rumour mill has ...

Re: No signal on analog outputs on traveler mk1

I sometimes experience the same thing on my Traveler; sound to the headphones but not feeding out from main outs 1 & 2 to power amp. The last time I resolved it was by setting "Audio Patch Thru" in DP to off when it had been set to auto. Changing the sample rate then reverting to the o...
