Re: Audio Inputs grayed out

repair permissions? in core audio see that the built in input and output are selected. presuming audio is working in everything else on your computer re: the kext files - are they perhaps in the system library for all users as opposed to the library just for you as a user, or vice versa? can you try...

Re: Aggregate device order wrong in Mountain Lion

Yes, def a Mountain lion bug. Control of the interface order existed previously. In my permissions repaired system I certainly see the bug. In DP, I can have the DAW do the aggregation bypassing this issue. In any other software I cannot, so it's a real PITA. Apple needs to correct this ASAP. Weird ...

Re: DP 8.1 Wishlist

 I would like Full plug-in latency compensation on AUX tracks. When doing paralell bus work, there can be phasing problems between the direct out of the audio tracks and the AUX send bussed signal with inserted plug-ins on the AUX master. This seem to be a problem in most DAWs as the AUX is n...

Re: if MOTU updated Unisyn, would you buy it?

I've found some people interested in buying it and some not willing to pony up any money. Fair enough. I'm not convinced anyone can say whether it would prove to be worth it or not, and a few naysayers haven't convinced me that it isnt worth it for MOTU. While I already own Unisyn and can run it on ...

Re: if MOTU updated Unisyn, would you buy it?

You guys are pretty cheap. I was hoping this would be more of a show of support for having that software not become abandonware. I liked Unisyn better than Sounddiver. I also thought there was at least a slim chance of getting MOTU to update it if we showed some support. Considering the investment I...

if MOTU updated Unisyn, would you buy it?

If MOTU went ahead and updated Unisyn to run on current OS's, would you buy it? I would. I suspect that if MOTU saw enough interest that they -might- be pursuaded to do something with that software. I'd love it if they did. When I chatted with them some time back I was told it was a possibility, but...

Re: does the DP update give any hope for an updated Unisyn?

I am (unfortunately) investigating whether or not to get a used mac to run an old os on so that I can edit my synths with Unisyn. That said, there are a number of synths which I have that this doesn't support, so I still think an updated Unisyn would be helpful to a lot of people, myself very much i...

Re: Waves 9 NOT COMPATIBLE with DP!

how do AU plug ins stop being compatible if they follow the AU spec to begin with?
this all seems weird. want to get this figured out while I still have the WUP coverage.
holding off on updating my waves plug ins till DP and Peak are compatible (my two most used audio programs)

Re: does the DP update give any hope for an updated Unisyn?

my point is that the move to massively recode software on the part of MOTU in order to give them a windows and mac presence suggests something about how they want to be positioned as a company. having the functionality of companion programs, like Unisyn, be cross platform and updated might make sens...

Re: does the DP update give any hope for an updated Unisyn?

yeah, my surprise was only that they did in fact do all the work to come up with a version of DP that could be ported to windows. I still think that the process of making Unisyn into a universal binary, if not a total cross platform product would at least get a reasonable sized user base. there are ...

does the DP update give any hope for an updated Unisyn?

I was surprised by the announcement of the DP update at this past NAMM. I was hoping that perhaps that could give some hope to the idea that Unisyn could be updated to run on Lion at least. I was lucky enough to have a lunch with Magic Dave in the recent past. He was coy on the matter only noting th...

similar experience mentioned in my DP 7.1 performance issues post. probably going to roll back this week. I have big sessions coming up and can't have this kind of crap getting in the way of me getting things recorded and mixed. I wanted to love it.

Re: best audio interface for D.P.?

another vote here for the metric halo interfaces. I'm using 6 of the 2882 MIO's with 2d and +DSP. Great. I'll bump some of them up to the ULN8's when I get some money. Even just having one or two ULN8's for the heavy lifting and the rest for integrating the outboard into the DAW would work. The thin...

DP 7.1 processor spikes and general high CPU usage

Hello I just tried DP 7.1 on a session yesterday for the first time. 2 mono tracks and 1 stereo track - VO session. Also 4 plug ins, two eq's and two compressors. The session was at about 50% cpu usage the whole time with occasional spikes. This stuff used to work just fine in the earlier versions o...

Re: Outboard Effects..to use or not to use..?

i use a ton of outboard gear. love it. all the time. good stuff, the plug ins still can't touch this stuff and i have plenty of both. i truly am in a hybrid situation. i primarily use DP and my two wishes for DP are... automatic delay compensation for external gear as is done in the other DAW's (log...
