I didn't realise Avid/Digidesign also now controls Tascam. And here I thought maybe the introduction of Structure, which most reviews say is roughly four times as good as the next best sampler (but is Pro Tools only), was part of what killed Gigastudio's base. Being a long time video guy, I am awar...

Is my 896HD "busted"?

Just recently I power up my 896HD and the fantastic dance of lights normally goes on a few seconds then settles in, but since the last power up, the dance goes on continually?

What does that mean?

DP5+MS2 or Logic Studio?

Well, Apple has gone and lowered the price of the complete Logic Studio to $499 and since the combined upgrade to DP 5 and M5 2 is almost $400, it seems to me that an additional $100 to get ALL the instruments provided in Logic might be a better deal.

896HD drives sound to Main Outputs 1-2 to the MAX

I have not used my 896HD for at least 6 mos until recently and today I was trying to get it to play out some iTunes music. When I go to the Sound preferences and select the 896 as sound Out, it drives the sound level indicator to the MAX. I see a MAX volume of input on the Analog Inputs (left) side ...

Re: mmmmmmm........Komplete 4........!!!!!!

I pray that they don't charge too much for UB updates---it seems they are getting rid of Komplete Care (which is a BS system anyways). I wonder how they will handle updates. Who here uses NI synths/samplers with DP? Dan Well, do those of us who just purchased the $599.00 Guitar center deal on Kompl...

It's like the "chants" of olden cultures to get people "in line". Proven to use music to control the behaviors of people. Monotonic chants or literally repeating the same phrases, lulls people into a sort of semi-conscience state. "Every Thing is Beautiful" Sorry, but w...

I have only (hardware synth's) Roland SC-88 and JV-1010. Does having a MIDI Librarian gain me much when most of my instruments are VI's?

Been fighting this for years!

OT-Perhaps - NI Complete 3 - Good Deal

Not sure if this is the best place for my post on software, but here goes.

Guitar Center is selling NI Complete 3 (this month) for $599.99. If you have ever wanted the whole store, this is the best deal I have ever seen from GC and NI.

If this doesn't fit here. please move it to where it does.

I will never purchase an extended warranty on general principle. IMHO a well designed piece of electronic gear that doesn't suffer an individual component failure (which usually occur in the first few months of operation) should last for years and years with reasonable care. Any system that lasts t...

If the Main out toggle switch is set to phones only - the volume control only affects the headphones and the Main Outs are full open- at Max volume.

Set the toggle switch to Main + Headphones to set the volume of the Main Outputs.

Yes, it nearly took my head off the first time I fired it up.

Matter at rest wants to stay at rest until a force greater than the force that causes matter to stay at rest, exerts itself. Friction binds that gravity action from exerting itself by(1) resting on a horizontal post (the screw) and (2) the binding action of keeping the back of the unit from falling ...
