Re: Lack of supported Windows10 Drivers

MOTU suddenly told me that the original Traveler isn't supported on Win 10 Having been severely disappointed with MOTU's support of their hardware on Windows, I've long departed for the shores of RME. There is still an 828MkII attached via ADAT, but the interface is a RayDAT. Give yourself some pea...

Re: Lack of supported Windows10 Drivers

Seems like MOTU has released updated Windows 10 drivers for USB/Firewire devices. The version is v4.0.6.6814, released Oct. 28, 2015. I've installed them and have begun working with them with my aging 8pre. Okay so far. Same version here working fine with Windows 10 x64 and an 828MkII FW. The only ...

Re: 828MK11 working on windows 10

The latest 4.0.6.6814 driver works well with Windows 10 64-bit. There is however an issue with TI Firewire cards that worked with older (motherboard) chipsets, which reportedly no longer work with X99 and Z170 boards. People are still investigating this, but I can verify from personal experience tha...

Re: 828mkII on XP problem

I think the un-installation is incomplete and some files are left which cannot be replaced by the older version of driver. How can I fully remove it? That's bizarre! It sounds like the installer is broken. I haven't tried to uninstall the 3.6.x.x driver yet ... but it's certainly not going on my &q...

Why can you not remove the 3.6.x.x driver completely?

Re: 828 mkII hardware problem

Good news, and praise due to Digital Village in that case! Once I gotten agreement from the retailer to exchange the unit, it was returned in about a week, in the same case but with completely new electronics. The problem was the discussion around whether it was chargeable or not ... in the U.K., th...

Look for a task called "MFWAKeys.exe" in Task Manager and kill it.
Uninstall any and all MOTU drivers and reboot.
Install Windows XP Service Pack 3.
Install the 828MkII FW drivers 3.5.3.2 as instructed by muranyia.
Reboot.

Depends on where you live. Apparently MOTU can get away with providing only a 90-day warranty in the US ... in other words, before you've figured out all the features of the device, should one of them be faulty somehow, they will have walked away and will ask for more money to fix it. If you live in...

Now it works. What confused me was that playing direct from the computer to Main Out you (me at least) cannot change Main Level in CueMix. Having some input however allows you to use your 4 buses. Not a classy mixer app anyway, I have seen RME's stock mixer and it (like their driver) kicks this one...

This might explain things:

If you're installing a new Windows XP machine I'd strongly recommend you use the 3.5.3.2 drivers rather than the newer ones ... at least for my 828MkII FW they are far more stable, even though intended for Windows 2000.

Using 3.6.8.1328 here with one XP SP3 system, Q6600, 2GB, seems fine apart from the fact that the configurations seems to "forget" some pan settings. Seems more stable than previous versions. Logic 5.5.1 is a pretty old application -- are you sure it works OK with 4GB RAM? Could you -- as ...

The first suggestion would be to tell people what kind of equipment, software and drivers you are using. Not everyone is psychic. What is the firewire chip in the Dell D630? (look in Device Manager under "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers"). What version of Windows are you using? What ...

This reminds me of a scene in a Marx Brothers film. I think Groucho is pretending to be a doctor and the patient says, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this ..." Groucho replies, "Well don't do that, then!". I know it's too late to say this, but you probably shouldn't have done the up...
