Re: Steinberg announces end of support for Power PC based Ma

By the way, can I use the Motif Rack Editor with DP? It's a VST plug-in, so shouldn't it work?

Unisyn 1.5 and Roland PAD-80

OK, I know this is heading in the wrong direction, but I fired up my old Powerbook G3 with Unisyn 1.5.1. I'm trying to save patches from an Octapad 2. I can save 1 patch at a time, if I set the patch editor to receive that one patch, but does anyone know if I can dump all the patches into Unisyn at ...

Slaving Units

Happy Thanksgiving, all. Two questions regarding slaving an 828 MkII FW and an 8pre. 1) What's the difference between slaving and daisy chaining through firewire? 2) If the 828 is master, but receives the 8pre channels through lightpipe, does that mean I need a 2nd optic cable to send from the 828 t...

Re: 828 MkII ins to their own outs

In DP itself, you can set the input and output in the mixer. Analog 1 in to analog 1 out and so on. I've done this before and then run the outputs to FOH like you were talking about. So what happens if the 828 is set up to send to the analog outs and DP is set to Main Outs? Will I get both? Because...

Re: 828 MkII ins to their own outs

You were right, but the PA will be front of house and far away, most likely. I'll take my chances and go to the 828 first. There is a 5 cam video shoot going as well, so the recorded audio is pretty important.

828 MkII ins to their own outs

On this next gig, we're needing to send all the channels on an 828 MkII to a mixer, via snake. What's the easiest way to send channels 1-8 to their respective outs? Do I need to assign the outs to busses and mute all the other channels? For example, bus 1 outs would be analog 1-2, then mute channels...

Play Enable Tracks

Greetings. I'm using DP 6 in a live setting, where 3 tracks are drum loops. I know I can option click on a track and it will play enable only that track, but I'd like to be able to play enable each loop separately with a Remote Command from a MIDI keyboard. Any way to do this?

Re: MBP and Original MTP!

Wow, thanks for that. I know the timing thing is a big deal, so a lot of the serial to USB cables won't work. But honestly, I'd trade the original MTP for a 1x1 MIDI to USB, just so I had something that I know works. It's funny, because I remember when I bought the MTP how important it was to have A...

MBP and Original MTP!

Anybody know if there's a serial to USB cable or adaptor that will allow me to use an original MTP with a Unibody (late '08) MacBook Pro? The MTP is just sittin' here, and it would be cool if I could use it. Any adaptor that's stable enough, or is it not worth my time?

Re: How to output to my stereo from UltraLite

CueMix should have 8 different Bus Mixes for your Ultralite. Just select Mix 2 and set the outputs to, say, 3 & 4 and turn up the channels accordingly. You should have sound to those outs.

Two Computer Setup?

Here's what I have: MacBook Pro (late '08) running an 828MkII and DigimaxLT lightpiped to it. These are going into the MBP through an Express34 firewire 400 card, which works great. Just added an Ultralite MkIII, along with an MX4. I would like to run the MX4 separately, on an iBook G4. Here's my qu...

Yeah, I was going to connect the 8Pre with the ADAT optical. If I go the FireWire route, doesn't that give each individual unit it's own CueMix console? I'd like to have them all together.

Re: Word Clock thru BNC

At the moment, I have an 828MkII and a Digimax LT. I'm hoping to replace the Digimax with an 8Pre. Also in the chain is an Ultralite MkIII. I'm hoping I can send word clock to that via SPDIF at the same time.

Best way to setup 828MkII, 8pre, Ultralite MkIII

Anyone have a recommendation on the best way to setup an 828MkII, 8pre and an Ultralite MkIII? If I daisy chain them through firewire, will I get 3 separate consoles in CueMix? Or, if I lightpipe/SPDIF the 8pre/Ultralite to the 828 will I get just 1 CueMIx console? Then there's the issue of word clo...
