Re: CPU spikes with video
I hear you. I wanted to like DP on my old system, but video performance made it impossible to score anything. It isn't without some quirks and issues on my new system, but I agree, the film scoring features make it worth any tradeoffs over other DAWs (Nuendo is my other main system, and I've used Pr...

Re: CPU spikes with video
I normally wouldn't recommend buying hardware to troubleshoot as I'm sure you also want to avoid, but in this case, if you can get a 960 locally where you can return it easily, it might be worth trying (got mine from Best Buy for just under $200). My 700 series card was hitting about the same loadin...

Re: CPU spikes with video
Yes, the UR44 could be sharing with one of the video cards. Check the board's manual to see if that might be the case, though with USB it's a bit harder to sort out. Try removing one of the 560s. It is possible DP is eating up cpu trying to manage video through both (and try to use one in a slot tha...

Re: CPU spikes with video
What video cards, and what is the setup? Since you have two, are they setup in a crossfire config? There are caveats with some motherboards for running dual graphics cards (such as tying up more of the cpu's lanes). Have you checked to be sure your audio card isn't sharing with one of the graphics c...

Re: Memory Cycle - first note dropped on repeat
I do have latency plugins (convo and algo reverbs) on sends, but plugin delay compensation should adjust for that. If it works on first playback, it should work on repeats as well. I'll test tomorrow. If that is the cause, it could be a bug in PDC. I have seen delays when editing MIDI during playbac...

Memory Cycle - first note dropped on repeat
With MIDI tracks, I'm finding that Memory Cycle always drops the first note of the section on repeat, even if the note start is on or just after the first beat (I've found the first note has to be close to a 16th after the first beat, over 100bpm or so, to prevent it from being dropped). Repro: 1 - ...

Re: Continuous Data scaling
Compression would be useful here. It's available for velocity, so perhaps MOTU can add it for CC data as well.

Re: Sequence and MIDI editor issues
For 3, just turn off "Auto resize" in the Mixer's mini-menu. That should lock your track selections in the mixer so they don't follow other editors.

Re: DP Themes building question
kPanelUnderline Hi kdm _ It's necessary that you seek and review as and when your changes in all windows. Personally, I have not found all correspondence / different lines of the .xml file but I will enlighten you on at least one which is quite easy. It's bizarr that you have not seen nothing in Di...

Re: DP Themes building question
I have learned by trial and error but I can't teach you every parameter - you just have to do what I did and keep experimenting. I have figured out most everything and customized most of the active/inactive buttons, designed my own color scheme to provide better contrast for key elements and less e...

Re: DP9 - recall continuous data lane views!
It does work well on the whole - it is stable and just as responsive as on the desktop. The main problem is using the internal Windows driver instead of a normal ASIO driver/interface and it's locked to 2048 latency, which means a noticeable delay before playback starts. There are also a few minor g...

Re: DP Themes building question
As there are no 3rd party themes for DP on Windows, I am building my own. The different Themes are compatible Windows and Appleplatform: no different formats _ A member of this site manufactures a few ; it's visible HERE _ I've looked at those. Not really what I am looking for - too much brown and ...

DP Themes building question
As there are no 3rd party themes for DP on Windows, I am building my own. Does anyone know what elements affect the color of the background and divider lines for the track list in the Tracks window (as well as Track Selector lists in the mixer, Sequence Editor, etc), and the section just below the t...

Re: Notation Editor - zoom staff height?
Thanks for the replies. I do use Quickscribe most of the time and it is great - no problems zooming to whatever size I need there. The Notation editor would be very handy for editing along side of CC edits, but it is a bit limited without the ability to actually see the notation. I also like how the...

Notation Editor - zoom staff height?
Is there a way to zoom the staff height in the Notation Editor? It's a bit small for editing. The manual suggests regular zoom commands, but vertical zoom simply moves the part up/down an octave, and the zoom tool doesn't seem to work (horizontal zoom does work for zoom to selection).
