Re: Intel Mac Pro- should I jump straight from Monterey to Sonoma?
Bays, the reason I wanted to update is so I don't fall too far behind. For instance I don't use Logic as a DAW, but I would like to access a feature on it, that I can't because the newer versions that have it won't install on my machine. I get that. I have a Monterey startup volume with a later ver...

Re: DSP Quattro updated to 5.9.5
Am I the the only one who notices that the app has a smaller footprint than the documentation? I hadn’t compared the app to the manual but always wondered how he gets the executable file so small. I remember IT shops that programmed directly in machine code to get small files and quick execution, b...

Re: Intel Mac Pro- should I jump straight from Monterey to Sonoma?
Is there any good reason to update the OS, other than for the sake of updating? Is there a function in the later versions you’d like to have that isn’t in your current version?
At the very least, set up a test volume with the new OS version and try it out first.

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
But since this forum is now dominated by issues arising with the intro of AS and Ventura/Sonoma… Is this not because this forum is now dominated by AS and Ventura/Sonoma users? My own experience is that my M1 Max is much more stable than my old cMP. Obviously you’d need a lot of AS users to get a l...

Yet another AS problem? Not happening here.

DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
I heartily agree with the need for multiple mixer windows. It's been on my list since I stopped using Cubase at version 4. That version was a joke, I was getting Windows error message windows on the Mac version, and the new content browser caused long periods of wheel spinning, but I gather it has i...

Starting a New Mix might do what you want. Little menu at the bottom left of the Mixer window.

Dynasone
Anyone remember Dynasone from Prosoniq? About 20+ years ago. A post at GS reminded me of it. It made everything sound like it was playing on an expensive Ampeg through a high end stereo with the loudness button on. Sometimes you want that. If I believed conspiracies, I'd say all the mastering engine...

Thanks for posting that Jon. Not sure I’ll go for the pedal but the overview on convolution is useful.

Re: An interesting option as a 2nd monitor.
Yes, most monitors do let you rotate, or course you also have cables and ports moving that can be messy and visible when rotating. True. But I doubt most of us would be rotating one monitor. More likely to have two, with one permanently rotated. My point was that is it likely anyone with two monito...

Re: An interesting option as a 2nd monitor.
My basic cheap Samsung monitor has an option to flip to portrait mode. I assume many if not most monitors can do this.

Re: Fuse Audio Compressor
Intro price is $29 instead of $59. Yet another compressor but looks interesting. Does expansion and compression on the same control and appears to be able to ignore threshold. I always wondered why this isn’t more common.

Re: The time has almost come..
IPersonally I wish I had a copy of P Lite, I would love to see what their stripped down workflow looks like. You’re not missing much. The app is stripped down a bit, but the workflow isn’t much different, except that some of the editors are missing and you have to make do with the editors that are ...
