Re: Who use DP8 in surround situation ?
Interesting !!!! What do you mean that works a bit ? I mean that, while I can steer the puck around OK, the control isn't very fine, not at all reliable, and probably more trouble than it is worth. While we are on the subject of surround panning, what plugins, and other surround tools are people us...

Here is a movie that shows controlling the panner on my iPad using AirDisplay - it's a little sluggish and temperamental, but you get the picture! http://ostinatomusic.com/VideoFiles/ipadpanner.mov Cheers! Stephen PS AirDisplay App just adds the iPad as another Mac screen - connects through WiFI......

Re: Who use DP8 in surround situation ?
I would like to move the puck with my finger !!!!! :headbang: I understand what you mean. I have tried mapping the X-Y controller I have on my Novation SL, but while that works a bit, it really doesn't make life much easier. I wish that someone made a plug-in like a plug-in I found for 3d animation...

Re: Who use DP8 in surround situation ?
Once data is in the track, you can always edit the parameters graphically. I haven't done this in DP8 yet, but in earlier version that was possible - just like editing vol, pan, etc. in any other track. Unless you are trying to do it realtime with a different external controller? I am sorry , I mea...

Re: Benchmark considerations for a new DP8 computer
Mine is pretty far down the benchmark list, but OTOH is holding it's price right up there in second place. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+E3-1235+%40+3.20GHz&id=1200 The question is: Is the machine fast enough to handle anything you throw at it and clearly mine appears to be...

Re: Benchmark considerations for a new DP8 computer
With issues that appear to arise with older GPU's, I'd be concerned about using a computer with an integrated GPU, as is the case with most Mini's. Also, unless you want to spend $$$$ on Thunderbolt connectivity, be mindful of how much storage you will need. This is an issue with both Mini's and iM...

Re: Benchmark considerations for a new DP8 computer
According to a former Apple employee (but who seemed reliable and knowledgeable) at the MOTU DP8 launch event in LA this week said that the new Mac MINIs are about as powerful as older 6 or 8 cores! Of course, newer Mac Pros are going to be even more powerful, but again, according to this guy the M...
