Re: Optimum Mastering Peak Level?
-0.2 with 8X oversampling and dithering on for the master bus I think. I don't know if MW can do that but there are many that can such as Fab Filter. I've never used a limiter on MP3 conversion, I just use the "Best" algorithm in Amadeus Pro. Maybe that means I'm doing it wrong? Honestly, ...

Re: REW
Are you wanting to use REW to measure you room with the audio through the MOTU interface? It is easy, just select it in the audio driver portion of the settings menu. I have a REW SOP I created based on Soundman2020's recommendation, though you could just look him up on the acoustics forum.

Softube Console 1 MK3 Released
New for Fall '23, Softube announced Console 1 MK3. Lots of changes. New software suite. 27 pots vs. 26 encoders. USB-C. Multi-color LEDS. 2 high res displays built it. More. I chose Console 1 ecosystem vs SSL due to better integration in DP. Not in a position to upgrade and test right now but though...

Re: can you turn the grid off?
You can, but stupidly, not from the tracks window. Go to the sequence window to toggle the grid. There is a keyboard short cut I don't recall off hand.

Re: Global Track Layouts
Also, can MOTU make it so when you add new tracks, there is a way to add them within the layout so you don't have to reassign the short cut?

Re: Where is "normalise"?
Innovation reached it's peak at the 8-track, but we've devolved since then. Actually, I'm not ashamed to ask. Do you normalize your tracks? To what level? I don't but I go through track by track finding the peak volume and using a trim plugin in slot 1 to set the level to ~-18dB. BTW, normalize shou...

In fact, you can set up a console with various controls laid out as you wish, though I have never done this.

Re: Anyone using Backblaze as backup?
I've been using it for years. I have mine set to manual backups and always make sure backup is paused before I launch DP. This isn't for stability per se, but it does use some resources in the background so better for me to do it this way.

Re: Help getting new Faderport to work with DP11
With a one channel controller, you need to scroll to the bank, then scroll to the track. I won't just follow the selected track. At least that's the way it worked for me. I got rid of my X-Touch One for an X-Touch Universal and X-Touch expander. It works so much better. With a 16 channel controller,...

Re: Stream Deck and DP11
FWIW, I wouldn't call this a formal profile but I've been working on an icon set and layout for myself. I've created a bunch of shortcuts but they overlay with my own customized key bindings. Plus, some stuff you have to create in your DP preferences (window layouts) or sometimes even every project ...

Do the devices have Word Clock? If so, connect that and don't forget you need the little terminal piece in addition to the cable.

Re: Have they fixed hardware insert since 9.5?
Hardware inserts work as expected for me and have for a while, though sometimes I need to delete and re-insert the plug-in which is annoying.

Re: UAD Satellite OCTO Arrived Today... some observations!
Congrats James. I brought up this two versions thing in James's other thread (https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=596391#p596391). I think it is hugely disappointing if they don't work like this: How it should work - It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing. I grab an API channel ...

UA runs the promotion annually where if you buy a premium piece of UAD kit (like a TB3 Octo), you can pick up like three plugins. I got about half my UA plugins this way...

Re: Can't insert volume on Sequence Editor page
Workaround solution is to pop open the Event Editor and insert a volume event there, then you should be able to see it in the volume lane in the Sequence Editor and begin editing there.
