Yes, it is impossible to own a 500 series chassis and not feel the uncontrollable urge to fill it up with modules. It's like crack for audio engineerstherealbigd wrote:is there any real reason why you can't just buy 2 blanking panels?

Re: REAMPING
There are two things to consider: Will it work? and Will it sound like you want it to? You may be able to rig something up to work. Whether the result sounds good or not is a subjective decision you have to make. Running a guitar directly into a mic or line input will "work" - i.e. you can...

Re: REAMPING
Gain is not really the potential problem - it is the impedance of the input. Guitars have a very high output impedance and if the input impedance of the device you are connecting to does not match close enough, you will load down your pickups and your tone will suffer. You may get enough gain, but y...

Re: DP Keyboard is out!
It's very cool, but......$200 USD??? At this stage in my life, my memory is still good enough that I can remember most of my keystrokes without having special labels on the keys. It would be a "nice to have" if it were only $75 or so, but $200? Maybe when I get a little older and a little ...

Re: DP 6 and 64 Bit 8 core
I'm pretty sure DP does not yet support 64 bit processing. Without 64 bit processing, the most memory an application can address is 4GB. It doesn't matter how much memory your have in your Mac, DP will still only be able to access 4GB of it.

Re: UAD1/UAD2 in a MacPro 8 core
I am running a UAD-1e and a UAD-2 Solo on a 2.8G 8 core with DP6.01 with no issues (at least none that I have uncovered yet). An interesting thing that I noticed is that in the new UAD Meter, you can tell it which plugs to run on which cards. You can tell it to run one plug on the UAD-1e and another...

Crow never tasted so good....DP6
I'll admit that I was one of the voices of complaint about the new GUI when I first saw the screenshots of DP6. I finally bit the bullet and upgraded, and after 2 weeks with 6, I must admit that the new GUI has grown on me considerably. I did apply the "dark mixer" background from Amplidoo...

Re: BM6A on the way woo hoo!!
That's interesting. The might be too big for my room too. I get a mix that I know is a good sounding one from a friend's studio, the bass actually feels "light" in my room. Maybe I would be better off with 6" woofers... dunno. James - I have had similar experiences with my ASP8s. At ...

Exactly! They are actually fun :D There is just nothing like uncovering thieves. Let us rough them up a bit :D I think most newcomers that ask are not thieves - they are probably just used to having PDF manuals with nearly every other piece of software they own, and can't figure out what the deal i...

Re: DP6 "Classic Mode"
Have you guys found any "actual size" PT8 screen shots anywhere? I popped by the Digi site and looked around a bit, but didn't see much that seemed to give a detailed look at it. James - I had to create an account on the Digi site to get into the larger views and quicktime shots of the ne...
