Re: El Capitan KILLS AlphaTrack USB Driver... back to Yosemi

Interesting. I upgraded to El Capitan yesterday and the Alphatrack worked without me doing or disabling anything. 2008 MacBook Pro if it matters.

Skeeter -- Casting Out

Hey guys, my once-a-year topic, just like clockwork. Just put out a new 2-song single. As usual recorded in DP (8.07) https://skeetermusic.bandcamp.com/album/casting-out Kept it pretty stripped down this time, very few plugins and got my sounds before going into the box for the most part. Used Metri...

Re: Best practice: Real-time vs. Pre-Gen?

I concur. Working on a session with only a couple plugins I wouldn't normally use, MH Channelstrip and WavesTune LT, I was getting random clicks and artifacts that were driving me bonkers. Even upon bounce to disc. Different spots every single time. Switching from pregen to realtime made fixed every...

Re: Skeeter - The Lightning Hasn't Led You Out to Sea

Bandcamp is equal parts commerce and streaming. Soundcloud from my experience is very sharing-centric with the commerce part tertiary. Also, from an administration standpoint, for the artist, Bandcamp is pretty outstanding. Highly recommended … except for the fact that most people use it as a stream...

Re: Skeeter - The Lightning Hasn't Led You Out to Sea

BKK-OZ, thanks so much for listening. I appreciate that it's not everyone's cup of tea! But anytime I hear AC/DC, Lennon and McCartney in the same paragraph, I get happy. FYI, bassist totally winged it on "I know everything." Apparently 3-songs no longer constitutes an EP, so I unleashed a...

Skeeter - The Lightning Hasn't Led You Out to Sea

For the most part, I'm a decade+ lurker here, but I do post from time to time when I wrap up a new record. (recorded my first DP release in DP3!) Brandy new powerpop/alternative/rock EP I just finished up. Recorded at my home studio — but I'm lucky to have decent mics, interfaces, and talented bandm...

New Indie Rock Record from Skeeter

This latest Skeeter release was recorded and mixed in the box with DP 7.24: http://skeetermusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-bad-persuasion-ep (Helps that it was mastered by Grammy-winner Tom Ruff!) Happy to run through any of the mics, plugins, etc. if anyone's interested in knowing! Thanks for listening...

Skeeter - "Red Lights Flashing"

Here's my first pass at mixing a new tune... a bit of a rocker. Let me know what you think.

Drums were not easy, as he is an extremely hard hitter. Lots of hat bleed. Here's the lowdown: RE20 Kick SM57 Snare, Floor, Rack KM184 Stereo/mono Overs Direct Bass (old transformer direct box) EMGs 57 guitar Room Mic instead of stereo over on "Crash it good" Hence, all 8 channels at once....

Hmmm... you know I really had to stop and think about it for a minute. Actually, none of it was done in DP4... all DP3.

I'm doing the lead vox and guitars, and depending on the tune (and part) some bass, too.

Skeeter - "Possibly The Only..."

I put out this record a little while back, a year and a half ago, on UK label Boss Tuneage. Tracked mostly on my Metric Halo 2882, mixed and mastered by me completely "in the box" in DP3 and 4. Pretty good learning experience for me. Enjoy... and let me know what I could be doing better, b...
