Just remembered that the configuration software for the A&H mixer crashed if the FW cable was daisy chained, but was fine as soon as connected directly. This was new, so again points to a problem in the MOTU area.

MOTU Audio Installer problem?
Anyone having a problem with the latest Audio Installer update (Feb 11 2016)? I'm running my system with one 828 III hybrid, one 828 II FW and an A&H Zed R16 FireWire mixer which is daisy chained into the 828 hybrid. I have these set up as an aggregate device, with the A&H mixer as the syste...

Re: Komplete 5 w/ DP 8 and ML
Would the Free Kontakt Player 5 be any use for your project? It comes with a decent selection of sounds and should handle your existing library.

Re: DP Crashes when accessing the File Menu
Finally seem to have this glitch fixed with much toing-and-froing with MOTU Tech Spport (thanks Lorne). We eventually determined that the problems were caused by Apple's DLS Music Device which I was using for quick auditioning of MIDI tracks on my laptop. I rarely use this on my Mac Pro, which expla...

DP Crashes when accessing the File Menu
Running DP8.04 in 64 bit on both my Mac Pro and MBP which are both running OSX 10.8.4. Yesterday I returned to a couple of projects which had been underway for a month or so (begun prior to the Universal Audio Installer 1.6.58373 update). Opened the first project, did some minor editing, played back...

Re: Weird Graphic Glitch in DP 8.04
Just had a quick look at two old projects and one new one on my MBP OSX 10.8.4 with DP8.04 running in 64 bit - no video glitches at all on my system; can't replicate what you are getting.

Re: Best plug to add 'hair' to a track
Another thumbs up for Alloy, though I use it more for Mastering the final mix. Izotope's Nectar can do the necessary on a vocal; I've had quite a lot of success with Blue Cat's Gain when I got a great vocal performance with too little of same (good singer, bad mic technique!). And Character from Nov...

Re: Straight up yes or no: Does EuCon support DP8?
Eucon bundle should be version 1.9. That's what i've got from my DP8 install. File is in Libray>Audio>Plugins>MOTU Control Surface.

Well I was going along with this until I reached No. 8 on the list of 'Songs That Are Better Than Sex' : Agadoo by Black Lace. Really? Really?? That's some bad sex then!

Re: DP8 and control surfaces
A quick update: I connected the mackie Control to the MBP running DP8 in 64 bit. This worked perfectly. Next I used the DP Control on iPad 3 to control the Mac Pro running DP8 in 32 bit. Again this worked perfectly. Finally I used V-Control on the iPad to control the Mac Pro. DP8 (32 bit) was totall...

DP8 and control surfaces
I've got DP8 running under Mountain Lion on MacBook Pro (early 2011) and on Mac Pro (early 2012). MBP is running DP8 in 64 bit. My iPad 3 lets both DP Control and V Control run DP8 successfully. No issues at all, no need to re-install either app. V Control also runs Logic 9 quite nicely. Mac Pro is ...

Re: Where Did "Open Sound Control" Go?
.....later that same day: Suddenly the Configure Audio System is working as it should. No clue why it started up again. I opened and closed a Logic session to check that the audio system WAS actually working - it was. Then Garageband, just because it was there. Next try with DP8 was the charm. Sure ...

Re: Where Did "Open Sound Control" Go?
So I've got DP8 (32 bit for now) running under 10.8.2 on MacBook Pro (early 2011) and Mac Pro (early 2012). On Mac Pro things run fine, 7.24 projects are opening and running. No crashes as yet, BUT I've lost communication with my Mackie Control in DP AND in Logic. I'll try some of the fixes posted b...

Re: DP8 in Mountain Lion 10.8.2?
Mac Pro is an early 2012 model, MacBook Pro is early 2011. Go figure!
User experience on the MBP is unchanged. Mac Pro feels constipated since the upgrade to ML. The high protein diet not agreeing with it.

Re: Vocal treatment for bad room
Well, I don't know of anyone who has one, in fact, I'd be very surprised if anyone in my town (or even state) has one. We're a little shy on super-specific devices up in these parts. At $200, I figure I could make something just as good, though. Fair comment Prime. To be fair I did the same math an...
