Re: Do you recommend purchasing Hollywood Orchestra?

When I'm asked about string libraries, I recommend Audiobro's LA Scoring Strings and Cinesamples' libraries. When I was investing in high-end string samples, Play was an underdeveloped playback system, and I read nothing by unhappiness with it online. LASS and Cinestrings run under Kontakt. So, the...

Do you recommend purchasing Hollywood Orchestra?

Hello Motunation, Since the upgrades of Play and ease of use of the EastWest Symphonic Orchestra, I am thinking about purchasing Hollywood Orchestra. I keep hearing about problems with Hollywood Orchestra's CPU usage . Does anyone out there experience CPU problems with Hollywood Orchestra and do you...

MIDI Fader Does Not Respond

Hi Motunation, Could someone please advise me on an issue that I am having with DP. My MIDI faders don't respond to my MIDI tracks volume when I move them with my mouse. The Plugin fader does work this way. For example if I have Kontakt sample being played, the sample audio track volume responds to ...

Symphonic Choirs

I have a problem with Symphonic Choirs. When using Multi Word Builder, with Woman, Alto and Soprano, the playback is transposed up a 5th. For the Tenors and Basses thee is no problem. I have sent 4 requests to Soundsonline support and have yet to be answered. Transposition is not affected in the ins...

Mac Pro 12 Core and DP

I just purchased a 3.03 GHZ 2012 12 Core Mac Pro. For some reason, I am not getting the performance I thought I could get. For example, the audio performance meter peaks out into red (DP 9.1) when playing a chord(tutti orchestra chord) with 15 separate instruments. Could be my setup, but was wonderi...

Quad Core 2.66 MacPro1,1 and Mountain Lion OS7

I am still working on a Quad Core 2.66 MacPro1,1 running 10.6.8. Its a great system. I want to install Mountain Lion OS7 so I can run Kontakt. Kontakt 5 Player Free Download

I am about to purchase the indigisounds steel pan library. It requires the Kontakt Player 5.
I see that it is a free download. Do I have to buy the full Kontakt 5 Player Version or can I use this free version. Look forward to your replies. Thanks.

Re: 64 Bit Operation and the Mac Pro 2.66 x2 Dual-Core Compu

Another Question:
I have a 2.3 GHZ Macbook Pro i5 with 16 GB Ram. Is this computer going to be faster then
the 2 x 2.66 GHZ Dual-Core Mac Pro?

Thanks again to all who have contributed to this blog.

Re: 64 Bit Operation and the Mac Pro 2.66 x2 Dual-Core Compu

Is my Intel Mac 64-bit compatible? Yes, if your Mac has a Core 2 Duo (note the "2") or Xeon processor. No, if your Mac has a Core Duo or Core Solo processor. Check the Hardware Overview in System Profiler to find out. My Mac, has a Xeon Processor so I think it appears to be 64 Bit operati...

RAM upgrade worth the investment? I don't think so.
Many thanks to all for your comments.

64 Bit Operation and the Mac Pro 2.66 x2 Dual-Core Computer

Hi Motu People, I am about to update to DP8 and was wondering if my computer will deliver the full 64 Bit power. Today, I went into a computer shop in Toronto ( Yes....the home of Mayor Rob Ford!) and was going to buy an additional 8 gigs of ram. The sales guy told me that my model, will play 64 bit...

Re: PUMP Audio Comment

PUMP audio takes your original work and sells it. And we allow it. Amazing.
What ever they can do so can you. They really have made it so easy for producers to get their music while making it all most impossible for composers to be successful because of this competition.
