Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase

I finally did get a response from MOTU support that they are able to replicate the consecutive note issue, and are working on a fix.

(While I was there, I requested that they make grid lines visible through soundbites during edit maneuvers).

I had no trouble signing in just now. I wonder if there was a rush of logins after they announced their summer sale.

Re: In Sequence, how to extend gridlines through a live instrument

But I’m wondering, what is the musical reason? If you need to have the transients perfectly aligned with the tempo points, beat editing will do it. If you just want to see how far off the beat it, zooming and placing the cursor at the transient will tell you exactly where it is to the millisecond. ...

Ah. I see it now. Just get's rid of that thick bar on top, bring the waveform closer to the edge. Got it.

The song also has a conductor track, so I wonder how it deals with conflicts. Or is it display only, and shows the conductor contents of the topmost sequence?

Re: Humanize not working on soundbites

I'm seeing the same thing here. No matter what I do, it's greyed out.

Is it possible this is a MIDI-only feature?

Seems like it would be useful to randomize onset & even the bite-gain (with ability to set the range to something safe).

Re: In Sequence, how to extend gridlines through a live instrument

.. if you turn off the Soundbite Color bar, the beat lines, and tempo missmatch bars extent to the top and bottom of the soundbite. I don't know what that means "turn off the Soundbite Color bar". .. move the track to the top of the Sequence Editor, it is quite apparent how the lines in t...

Doesn't inspire confidence. I do look forward to the day when a DP release comes out, and I get to say: "Finally."

Re: We need a project load dialog

The lack of a status bar hasn't bothered me, in part because they are almost always not very meaningful. "7% ... 8% ... 8.5% .... done". Or "2% ... 40%... 95% ..... 95% .....95%..... 96%.... under a minute.... .... " nine minutes later... "done." I agree about the cance...

Re: In Sequence, how to extend gridlines through a live instrument

I'd love an answer to this, as well. I'm often needing to align transients to points on the grid, and have to resort to a pretty imprecise vertical guessing (but I zoom way in to make it more accurate), or using the scrub bar to align to the ruler. If we're not missing something, we should submit a ...

Re: Chunks Window Insanity

… and figure out a way to deal with tempo when Sequences overlap in a Song I guess that's the big trick, since the Song object has its own conductor. You take, for example, the end of the first sequence (starting at the point where the new tempo and new sequence starts) and make that into its own c...

It does sound much more pleasant, natural, and consistent than anything I currently have. Thanks for the additional info, MH.

Re: Chunks Window Insanity

...the Songs Window is is a feature that has long atrophied and really doesn't seem too useful... at least not to me personally. I like the concept of being able to arrange a serial order of "chunks" (i.e., in a more literal sense like verse, chorus, bridge), then add a meta sequence that...
