Re: Opinions on VEP vs V-Rack

I ended putting all of my instruments into VEP because I run into some really bad stability issues when Kontakt and Play are loaded into DP. Are those of you who are using VRACKS loading Kontakt and Play into them, or have you found a way to circumvent this issue?

Re: Which OWC SSD

Good to know, thanks for all of your suggestions everybody! Mike Halloran - I will definitely give that Trim Enabler app a go and maybe give the samsung 850's a better look. I was hesitant after my experience with the 840's but it does sound like they've made some significant leaps in the right dire...

Re: Which OWC SSD

Apparently they haven't released a mac version of the update for the latest firmware update just yet. Additionally the mac updater was more of a pain in the a$$ then plugging them into the windows machine since I would have to create a bootable usb.

Re: Which OWC SSD

DIX, The load times become very long and the streaming can be sluggish forcing me to increase the buffer settings within my DAW. I just applied the firmware update today that was recently released by Samsung and so far things are running much more smoothly, but in order to apply the update I had to ...

Re: Which OWC SSD

Yeah, I currently have some Samsung EVO 840's and regret that I purchased them. The loading and streaming of samples has been problematic on those drives. I am going to apply an update to the firmware that was just released to see if that solves the stale data issue. In regards to the incompressible...

Which OWC SSD

I am comparing the Electra and Extreme Pro OWC SSD's. The only difference I can tell between the two are the incompressible data read/write rates and I don't have the technical knowledge to know if these read/write rates are relevant to streaming samples. Will the Extreme Pro truly be faster for str...

Re: Arrow Key to select track to record on in the tracks win

Thanks for all the tips. It turns out that a folder that was closed had a bunch of audio tracks set to record enable therefore prohibiting me from being able to use the arrows keys to move up and down. DP - 1 User - 0 DP wins on account of an USER FAIL. Hahaha, oh well at least I figured out what wa...

Arrow Key to select track to record on in the tracks window

I normally am able to use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll up and down the track list with record enable but for some reason cannot at the moment, is there a setting that I can change to enable this feature?

Re: How does one punch on on controller#1 automation?

+1, I'm in the same boat you're in with LA Scoring Strings. It gets old really quick having to go in and delete the old data. This goes for other things such as portamento speed which I use for the Aleatoric patches as well.

Re: DP, VEPRo5 & MIDI routing?

You need to open VEPro5 in Server Mode then within the server create one instance for each VI that you want to create. From there you simply create an instrument track in DP for each instance in VEPro. Once you've done that open the VEPro instrument in DP and connect to the instance in VEPro. Hope t...

Re: Plogue Bidule with DP.. Do I need it?

As someone above stated use VE PRO, in my experience it is substantially better than Bidule and keeps DP lean and mean. I have huge templates using this software and I've never had it crash.

Re: Slow Hard Drive Performance

Wylie1, I do keep my drives organized as you described. I have a System drive, projects/audio drive and a samples/plugins drive, so based on what you're saying I shouldn't have any problems installing everything fresh (as opposed to restoring from a backup) onto these new drives and then needing to ...
