Re: DP7 - Let's support it

I am an upgrade freak. Whenever I can upgrade, I will. I know I should seek some professional help... My last upgrade was Os 10.6. Everything started to crash immediately, Dp6.02, Ultralite mk3 acted weirdly, crashed every 2 minutes. Had to restore stuff to 10.5 from backup. I will get Dp7 when it ...

Re: DP7 - Let's support it

I'll be upgrading... In spite of the various issues in 6, DP still sounds the best to my ears.

The bug squashing will be nice. Even if DP7 was like a Snow Leopard upgrade... I think it would be worth it...

Re: National Act Mixing Costs?

No, I don't have a specific link to me and mine right now. We were developing a site and I left off. LOL.

Are you interested in learning something specific?

Re: Done griping about Performer's shortcomings.

I remember Logic 7. Crashed so much. LOL. I was happy to be a DP slut. I basically used it for sequencing and saved very often. LOL. Setting autosave to once every 2 minutes DP still gives me the flexibility of a Console (far as routing) but Logics stability and the ability to instantiate plugins wi...

Re: Done griping about Performer's shortcomings.

If MOTU can nail down the stability, reduce corrupted project files or provide a system of automatic backups, I will be a happy camper. This is the ONLY issue making me bounce between Logic 9 and DP6 for mixing.. I Love DP, but Logics stability keeps me in temptation mode. And now with th...

Re: National Act Mixing Costs?

His numbers are pretty accurate.

I charge per track. the Bigger the name, The Bigger the fee.

I take 1.5 days per song. If I move faster, it's due to the simplicity of the material. Typically Live takes me longer than sequenced or VI type stuff.

Re: Apple did it again - Logic 9

I find Logic finally is (90%) on par with DP as far as the Audio Engine is concerned. Logic 8 was nice, but WRONG in the top end. I think they hit the nail on the head this time.

Re: Euphonix DP Update

I stopped using DP's Performance Monitor long ago. The Apple Activity Monitor seems more accurate, and it shows me the activity on a per-processor basis. I have it running at all times as a floating window up in the corner. Whenever my machine acts up, a quick glance at the Activity Monitor usually...

Re: Euphonix DP Update

An observation I just want to point out is that DP has the feature of disabling tracks, so even though the tracks are there, they don't use much or any power. The mc mix, on the other hand, does see all tracks all the time. (well, so does the mackie control) so I thought that if at least the mc mix...

Re: Total newbie!

DP will run better (more efficiently) on an Intel machine. Even that Mini.

G5 Gives you the expansion cards option.

Plan your usage and make the determination

Re: Control surface conundrum...

So, I thougt, and hav made a concept design of what I would like to have as control surface for DP, with a price tag of arround 7000 €. I think is possible, looking at some digital consoles with taht price, and if take out all the audio path/ converters, processors, preamp, and use the money to inc...

Had a production system with an Acomdata Hard drive USB/FW Hub. Worked just fine. Outperformed my Old G5. The Current Mini is excellent. It will run with 1 -1GB and 1-2GB DIMM. No big deal to replace the internal with a 7200RPM 2.5" HD. Use the FW Drive for streaming Audio and the USB 2.0 Ports...

I am a UAD fan and so I shall remain, however, just like the V-Series, the JJR is just another color... Reminds me of a 30 yr Old Pultec I used in an OLD SSL 4000 Studio. Nothing to write home about. Not sure I'll spend 800 for them. I did for the API and V series as they were that good to me. Dunno...

Didnt see this thread... LOL Posted this in the DP forum... The price of waves still holds me at bay $800 native and then the WUP... SO let me see here. I have the Ren MAX, SSL, V-Series and API... Now if I add this, I am paying $1000/ year to stay Up-To-Date. And we still have bonehead DP support. ...
