Losing Ourselves

I've just released my first single to the world. I've been writing and sending out demos for years, but this is the first time in a while I've finished something and wanted to share it with the world. The song is called "Losing Ourselves" by A. Hardin Gray (me). It's available on iTunes (a...

Re: MX4 2.2.2 Update

Installation went fine for me in Lion. I didn't see anything exciting and new. The previous version was working fine for me as well in Lion, so I'm not sure what's new with this.

Re: MX4 2.2.2 Update

Gak. I just realized that I haven't posted in so long my signature was terribly out of date. This should be better.

I haven't installed the new MX4 yet. Anybody have any luck with it?

MX4 2.2.2 Update

New updater on Motu.com. Not a lot of details but it says it's for OS X 10.7 compatibility.

Enjoy!

Installation worked fine for me. I copied the two files to my desktop. I'm using an internal drive (the boot drive for DP) for the app.

System:
G5 dual core 2.3ghz
OSX 10.4.6

I talked to 2 different techs at MOTU about this and they assured me I was the only one they had ever hear complain about MIDI notes sticking in DP 4.61. I talked to a MOTU guy at NAMM, and he said the same thing. Well that's interesting news. I've talked to two techs at MOTU about this and had a c...

Stuck MIDI notes (also)

I'll throw my experiences in the ring: I have two MTP/AVs networked. One is USB, one is serial. I've been having stuck notes and dropped notes on only the second (networked, serial) unit. For me, the stuck notes are usually on any device attached to the same MTP - but always on the same channe. I ha...

DP interface (hopefully fixed in DP5)

Does it bother anybody else that each screen has the horizontal and vertical magnification buttons in different places?

bottom right
top right
top left + bottom right

Pick a location!

Now, I know that I should learn some of the keyboard shortcuts, but I can only be good at 15 things :)

Re: Random MIDI Notes

I'm trying to track down a problem with MIDI: ... TIA for any tips / ideas! I've had stuck note problems in several versions of DP. I have pretty much tracked it down to my two MTPAV network. I think that networking them isn't as solid as MOTU would have us believe. One thing I've done has minimize...

Re: pls write down your solution

I'm still trying to trace my stuck notes issue. At this point it seems to be a bad second MTPAV. I'm waiting for my RMA from MOTU to send it in.

My problem occurs only on my second (networked) MTP, and occurs in both OS9/DP3.x and OSX/DP4.5x

Re: Motif ES needs updated middev and midnam

Are you looking for the one for the ES keyboards, or the new Rack ES? I think the ones included with DP are fine for the keyboard version. I had to modify one of them to update it for the Rack ES. Let me know if you need it. We're working on getting a share folder for .middev and .midnam files, mayb...

Re: Switch from Opcode to MOTU

Another former SVP user here (starting with Vision 1.3 I think). I actually still keep a separate boot drive with my SVP setup to bring up old sequences if I need to. You'd think with all these smart SVP-> DP users, someone might want to write a utility to open SVP files in DP and retain all sequenc...

Re: Has anyone heard from MOTU re: terrible MIDI?

Got a new network (serial) cable. Same problems.

So, there are two things left to consider:

1) I have a bad MTP.

2) Networking two MTPs does not work.

Re: MIDI channels merging; Not a good thing

Glad it worked out. Pesky MTP batteries.

And really pesky MOTU for not having ClockWorks OSX support all of the features of the MTP.
