I did go to the site, saw the list of plugins but no VI's listed. My quest is see if I can get along without a new version of Mach V. There are only limited $$ after the new Mac purchase.

What Virtual instruments come with DP8?

I have a new Mac Mini to replace my still-running-but-I-don't-know-how G4 Mirror. I have DP4.61 and Mach V1. I only need meat-and -potatoes bass and keys. I was running my Native Instruments through Mach V with a side of EZ drummer. I've Googled and noted that DP8 comes with some VIs but what?

New tunes with videi

The Last Cerveza was all DP. Mostly tracked with my iBook. Sweet Dreams was tracked live in the studio in one pass. We did 2 takes but the first one was all good. Go to Rodeo Deluxe on facebook and leave a comment (if it's a good comment) ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqB7IPcwUxo" onclick=&...

Mpeg4 conversion to aiff...

A client gave me Mp4 files. What is the best way to convert to aiff? A free converter would be good , of course. I'm on DP4.61.

Re: Plug-In for Mixing in Headphones

... so if it helps iPods, would it help other compromised listening areas such as Myspace, Youtube? Wouldn't that make a purchase worth it!

Re: Fender "Road Worn" guitars - STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

As I suspected earlier, the naysayers haven't played one. The don't play like all other Fenders. Different neck profiles, nut width and fret size, all recipes. It's that feel of broken in. Forget the looks, the crowd in your home studio won't care. Lot's of people don't like Fenders of any kind. Per...

Re: Fender "Road Worn" guitars - STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

Pre-worn is silly only if Fender doesn't sell any, but they will... How many of you have played them? or are you all just pontificating? I bumped into veteran (plus 50) player at the music store. We both have vintage instruments but we both agreed that the feel and set up of these guitars were just ...

Side chain gated kick and bass trick, any clues?

I've read references to using a gate and a side chain/buss arrangements to have the bass lock with the kick. I have never seen a diagram but I would love to try this if anyone cares to outline the set-up... :D

itunes out of phase issue -problem -question ...help?

I've tried a Motu search but I couldn't find a proper answer. When I import a tune into itunes from an AIFF file, I get a phase canceling issue. Any instrument that has some stereo delay sounds right when mixing but when I get it into itunes, those tracks are quieter which indicates a phase problem....

Re: Direct box in front of Guitarport = big help

I'm referring to the distortion toys in the Gearbox/Guitar port as being "splattery" when playing a chunky chord. I found an old DOD passive direct box in the back of the stomp box drawer. Guitar to DOD to Guitarport to DP. It sounds like you have had the same success. James Steele has a G...

Direct box in front of Guitarport = big help

I read about and tried a direct box in front of Guitarport = big help. The distortion/overdive in that unit false apart while playing chords, OK with a lead line. Overall, things sounded mo' betta. I'd like someone else to try this and see if I'm just halucinating. Of course miking a real amp sounds...

Re: help with G4 Dual 1.47 gig MDD

You might do a search regarding OS 10.4.61 and DP 5.13 being very happy together. (vs your 10.4.11). This may keep your operating until the new Macs this fall.

E-verb, Altiverb, Au verb How do you evaluate your reverb?

How do you evaluate your reverb? When I started, there was a big room with a mic on one end and a speaker on the other end. You could have more or less etc. So some people hate one and love a different one. When I adjust the pre delay to the tempo of the song the reverb blends very well. Add some EQ...

I recently exported to Pro Tools. I selected all my soundbites at one time and exported as aiffs to a new folder. Those all loaded into PT in a few seconds. Have I missed something by not going the OMF route?
