Re: upgrade/install question
Thanks for the input. I understand that once I save an old DP5 project in DP7, that I can't go back. I was planning on partitioning my system drive before I upgraded OS and installed DP7.24 . I thought that would be a safe way to always be able to get back to square one, if you know what I mean. Am ...

upgrade/install question
I’m about to upgrade from DP v5.11 on OS 10.4.11 to DP v7.24 on OS 10.6.8 After installing DP 7, should I open up an old DP 5 project under DP 7 first, or open a new project? What would be the positives and negatives of doing either? I guess what I’m wondering is, if I opened an older DP5 project fi...

Upgrade Questions
I’m now using DP 5.11 running on a MacPro / Dual-Core IntelXeon / 2.66GHz w/OSX 10.4.11 (Yes, I know, I’m back in the “Stone Age”). For my needs this old computer still rocks with 3 extra internal 10,000rpm Raptor HD’s (one for audio and the other 2 for VI libraries. I can accomplish everything I ne...

Re: Spectrasonic Question
I'm looking at Omnisphere, Stylus RMX, and Trilian, and the Spectrasonic’s website list system requirements for each as “OSX 10.7 Lion or higher”. I’ve emailed their website for info. Thanks for you reply James.[/quote] Interesting! Thanks for filling me in. I'll have to take a look. I remember that...

Re: Spectrasonic Question
Would it still be possible to purchase any of the Spectrasonics products that will work with MacOS 10.6.8 on a MacPro Dual-Core IntelXeon 2.66? If so, where… I think many of them would still work on 10.6.8. Which production do you mean? I have the latest version of Stylus RMX and to my knowledge it...

Re: My New Favorite Waveform Editor
It seems I have gotten this app (WE) working good now. A few false starts but with the help of Chris @ AE I'm getting around very quickly with this little program and I'm very happy I stuck it out. One weird thing that was keeping me on first base was that I just couldn't get it to open when bring i...

Re: My New Favorite Waveform Editor
whonozz, They have a forum for WE. You might want to try asking your questions there and possibly get help directly from the developers. Yeah I'm in contact with a person named Chris @ Audiofile Engineering and I'm hoping I can get on a roll with this app. I'm prepared to hang in there a bit longer...

Re: My New Favorite Waveform Editor
Back to WE…. OK, so I’m into about the 5th day of giving this WE program a run through under their 15-day “Trial” period with some success via figuring out a few work arounds. But I’ve finally run into a wall and maybe someone else on this tread can set me straight. I’ve read through the manual forw...

Re: SPL free plug-in !
The plug loads fine here. The idea of launching an app and then, while the app is running, having to go to their site, enter a code and wait for a response (while my app gently weeps) seems very convoluted. I know you're not supposed to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'd be loath to actually b...

Re: SPL free plug-in !
I guess I'm in demo mode since it is running and I can't seem to get the plug to ask me for the response code now. It should pop up after 30 days I suppose. I was able to get the response code as I also tried to email it to them. Sometimes I feel like a nut; sometimes I don't. Tonight, I feel like ...

Re: ? DP mixes to Bias Peak for mastering
HOLY APPENDECTOMY, MHSCHMIEDER! This doesn’t sound FUN at all…. Sure wish MOTU could/would include the means to do what it is I want to do, from right there within DP. Even if it wasn’t as “Rolls Royce-ish” as say a Wave or Bias program. The longer I work at this thing called music, the more I appre...

? DP mixes to Bias Peak for mastering
Is it just me or is BiasPeak (5) not a very intuitive/logical program???? Here is what I’ve been trying to achieve within BiasPeak and if after reading this there is anyone out there who could (simply, unlike me trying to following the Bias user guide) give me a step-by-step run through, I’d greatly...

Re: The free VI's/plugs list.
I've had a few days to play around and decided to look into this "free VI's/plugs list. I just gave the BlueCats St. Flanger, St. Chorus, and FreqAnalzer a try and after the download process and upon launching DP it seems that the AU's "Crashed Exaimination Process", or so it says in...
