Re: Using DP to write to picture

Congrats on the gig! Depending on how the video is turned over to you, you may need to have the video offset from the sequence so check out the video start and chunk start capabilities. Also knowing what kind of delivery you need may determine what stems/splits they want, if any, so having a good tr...

Re: MIDI Crash on Tempo Change

I have found the culprit! Here I thought it was a DP / plugin issue, but it turns out it was on the VE-PRO side of things: the "new and improved" 8DIO Rhythmic Aura 2. Replacing it with the original instrument made the problem go away. Of course I lose the new fancy programming, but I don'...

Re: MIDI Crash on Tempo Change

Yes, that was what I was thinking as well. Even if I'm playing a single piano back, and recording it as audio in real time, it does this.

But if I'm mixing audio, it has no issue with tempo changes, so I'm guessing that is the culprit. Thanks again for your help!

Re: MIDI Crash on Tempo Change

Thanks stubbsonic! I went through the plugins and found that the MAS version of VE PRO was causing issues, even though it passed inspection. So I disabled all MAS versions of plugins where there were AU versions available and that has helped a bit. I also increased the buffer size. However that didn...

MIDI Crash on Tempo Change

Hello, I'm experiencing an issue where the processor overloads on MIDI playback especially as soon as it encounters a tempo change. I haven't had any problems until last week. I have been hesitant to update software as I'm in the middle of a project, but I have lost several hours to this issue and I...

Re: [SOLVED] DP 8.0 Mac OS error: File permissions error (-5

Okay... I think I figured it out, though the solution puzzles me. I hit Cmd+I to get info on the drive and even though all the users, staff, admin can read and write, I checked the "Ignore ownership for this volume" and everything works.

So...shrug and keep going? Okay fine.

Re: DP 8.0 Mac OS error: File permissions error (-54)

No love. This what I get as soon as I open the program. I guess it's back the old hard drive and 7.24 on OS10.6.8.

Re: DP 8.0 Mac OS error: File permissions error (-54)

Thanks! I did already triple check every drive has the proper permissions (and all enclosed contents as well).

Restarted again. Repaired permissions again. Still no love after the 8.04 update.

[SOLVED] DP 8.0 Mac OS error: File permissions error (-54)

I just upgraded to a new SSD for my OS, I installed DP8 yesterday, was able to open files just fine, but this morning I have encountered an inability to open anything. Even creating a new file crashes the program. I'm going to try updating to 8.04 and hopefully that will fix it. I tried repairing pe...

Re: DP7.2 Working Well

I've had a bit of weirdness with bundles as well when using VE Pro. But I guess I don't run into it so often that it drives me crazy, and it's easy enough for me to fix. I love the new themes, and I've had a much more stable experience with it, moreso than 6.03, which served me quite well, but 7.2 i...

Upcoming live orchestra performance

Hey everyone, I answered an open call for scores and my piece, Across an American Sky , was among the few selected for performance this September! The performance will be at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood on Lankershim on September 11th at 8PM and the 12th at 2PM. You can listen to an exce...

Re: DP7.2 Working Well

I'm so excited to finally upgrade from 6.03 to 7.2! Is there any reason to uninstall 6.03 first before installing 7.2?

Re: Setting for playback when notes are written back to back?

I've experienced this same thing even from going from 5 to 6. I'm not sure why, but I have to do the same thing. If you want, you can select all and change the durations of the notes to 99%. But I usually go through each note in a line that I end up moving them all individually anyway as part of the...

Re: Just for Fun: What music gear do you regret buying?

A few years ago an acquaintance of mine was replacing a bunch of gear and sold me an old turnkey gigastudio. I powered it up occasionally but couldn't really get anything out of it as is, not having any connectivity. In order for it to work with my system I had to invest in about $1200 worth of gear...
