Re: V-Rack question

His response to me (on this board) seemed to indicate that it is essentially a 'per fader' issue. Agreed. I understood it to mean one core for each fader Agreed. so that would mean one VI per Vrack. I'm open to correction, but I don't follow here. As a single Vrack may contain one or more faders--l...

Re: V-Rack question

If that's a multicore machine, put each VI instrument in it's own V-Rack. MagicDave says that distributes the load among the cores (or in separate tracks if you;re not using VIs). The repair permission thing was (I think) when you update to DP 8.01. It repairs many audio things. Just a point of cla...

Re: Automatically Inserting MIDI Controllers While Recording

I don't know about the cc's, but the patch change might be because a default patch is in effect for that track/device. See here:

"Top right hand corner of Tracks Overview window. Drop down menu, Clear Default Patch."

Re: MIDI channel change for some notes possible?

Hi. First time posting here. Welcome, penguin! I have been using Logic since version 7 and recently switched to DP8. I am mainly writing large orchestral pieces using large sample libraries. When I am writing for, for example, strings, I might need to use legato, pizzicato and tremolo patches. I am...

Re: The Digital Performer Tips Sheet

Dragging a Standard MIDI File to DP's Chunks window strips Tempo data. Here's a workaround to preserve Tempo data: I have a DP project file with several Chunks. I want to add another Chunk whose source is a Standard MIDI File that contains MIDI tempo changes. From the Finder, double-clicking the SMF...

Dragging SMF to Chunks window strips Tempo

I have a DP project file with several Chunks. I want to add another Chunk whose source is a Standard MIDI File that contains MIDI tempo changes. From the Finder, double-clicking the SMF launches DP and I see all SMF data--track names, notes, controllers, markers, meters, etc., including tempo data. ...

iTunes audio not obeying AMS under ML

I have a MOTU PCI-424e audio card with 2408 and 1224 interfaces. On a cloned startup drive, I upgraded from SL to ML 10.8.2. DP 7.24 is working fine so far. My problem is that iTunes will only play thru Analog 1-2. In Audio MIDI Setup, I have PCI-424 as Output device and speakers set to ADAT B 7-8. ...

Re: Real time MIDI sysex in & out on MIDI tracks

Yeah, the same thing happens with me on a SysEx Console. The slider, knob, or value box goes up to 63, and then stops, though if I raise it fast enough I can get it to jump from 63 to 127. It gets even more complicated than that. When raising it by clicking directly on the slider and dragging, it w...

Re: Mapping controller data onto automation?

I guess it goes without saying, but instead of adding a new MIDI track just duplicate your Garritan MIDI track and change the output to "Wah Pedal : track name : insert x". Then on the Wah Pedal plugin, dial in the Pedal CC# that you want it to respond to--i.e. CC#1 or #7 in your example.

Re: Mapping controller data onto automation?

First of all I was wrong. Automation data (ramps, etc.) work fine with the Wah Pedal. Insert Wah Pedal plugin in the audio track to be wah'ed. Then you can draw in the automation data directly in your audio track. Look for automation type "Wah Pedal (pedal position)". Just make sure Wah Pe...
