Re: Easiest way to make the click track do double time

What I have done is print the click at 48 then copy it to another track and move that track over an eighth note and now it’s double time. Easy no thinking.

Re: Sweet-spot iPhone for Noob?

I have an iPhone 8 Plus I bought from 1 of my students for $200. Works fine latest OS. There are a lot of used ones out there. Very handy for keeping in touch with my students.

Re: Recommendations needed for another audio interface

Check the battery of the MOTU. I had that problem with my MIDI Express. Can’t hurt and you’ll have a new battery.

Re: Using Multiple 896MK3 Hybrids

If you have a sync track why not just make 3 passes 2 8’s and a 7? It might take a little longer but it’s a lot easier than 23 at the same time. Make a test run with just a couple tracks. Experiment.

Re: Recommendations needed for another audio interface

I just got an 828 MK2 for $90 and it works perfectly. It would work with a 2010 MacPro, I haven’t tried it with mine yet but it works with the 2006 MacBook Pro and the 2011 MacBook Pro.

Re: DP Ignoring Notes At Start Of A Track

Try this. Cut the notes and then paste them back into the track. Also make sure the starts of the notes are right on the beat. I also have 2 measures at the beginning I’ve been doing that since my MC 500 days and I would write my charts in 8 bar phrases that would go 10,18 etc. and that way I always...

I would try looking in Audio MIDI setup and make sure both units are hooked up there. You might have to add one.

Re: Slow bounce to disc

I’m not sure if this will help but. I mix in real time and then bounce the 2 track mix with EQ and compression. But it’s only a 2 track mix so it goes quickly. You might try just bouncing 1 track and see if it’s fast or slow and then try 2,3 and so on maybe you could figure out if a certain track is...

Here is what I do. On the track that Omnisphere is on I create a bus to an audio track and record to
that track in real time.

Re: Direct hardware playthrough with 828mk3 - troubleshooting (no sound)

Where does the TOSLINK B go? How are you monitoring? Have you tried monitoring out the Analog outs? Have you ever had it working with the TOSLINK outs? Do you have an Apple machine to test with? I have an 896mk3 and it monitors with Hardware Direct, so I know it works for me on all my 828s but I hav...

Re: How do you do instant (no ramp) automation changes

Here is what I do. Make a selection, go to the tool palette click on the icon at the right end I think it’s the trim tool then I click on the tool to the right of the scissors, go to the Sequence Editor to the track I am working on now I can click in highlight section and drag, one will get a line t...

Re: pcix-424 is getting silence from 2408

It’s been a long time since I synced up my DA 88. But I used my MOTU Digital Timepiece for sync, there is no clock in TDIF so you have to clock it somehow or let it run free. In the PCI audio app make sure you are in the right bank and have clicked on the check boxes for the in and out. I’m on a Mac ...

Can you just record the left and right to 2 mono tracks. I’m guessing you are playing back from a tape recorder.

Re: Buying ProTools used... transfer perpetual license?

Great that’s what I would like to do. Just so I could have a copy and learn more about it. I have a couple books “Pro Tools For Dummies “ and another one, I can look up the key commands things like * and the measure number gets you around. What I’ve always done is merge all the soundbites from the b...

You might have to set the MIDI learn, that the fader in DP will control the volume.
