Re: Crashes when merging large/long tracks
Well, still no luck. I've updated Digital Performer to the new version (11.2) and tried MOTU's suggestions, including deleting the Com.MOTU.MOTUAudioSystem folder from Library>Preferences. But I'm still getting the same results: projects continue to hang or crash. I didn't get the sense that MOTU is...

Re: Crashes when merging large/long tracks
Just submitted a ticket to MOTU with the crash report. I'll let you know what they say.

Re: Crashes when merging large/long tracks
Thanks for the reply. —OK, increased my buffer to the max: Same result. —I've tried both the system drive and external drives (two different ones): Same result. —Crashing or hanging: Both. Sometimes it gets about halfway through the merge and just hangs forever. Other times it gets almost to the end...

Crashes when merging large/long tracks
Hi there. I'm having a strange crashing issue with merging. Years ago, I recorded a number of live gigs with DP. I edited the various tracks and now I want to consolidate (i.e., merge) each track so I can hand off the tracks to someone else for mixing outside of DP. I'll also create some stereo stem...

Re: DP11 is here!
Would you prefer a subscription approach? Not me. Yeah, I definitely would not like a subscription approach. And I recognize that updating software for a new OS and chip is a serious undertaking—and developers need to get paid. Still, I moved up to DP10 exactly one year ago. So, this feels similar ...

Re: DP11 is here!
That's cool to see a few people happy about the new features. For me, DP11 will mainly offer the ability to upgrade my OS. Beyond that... I guess the Nanosampler upgrades look interesting? The "intelligent audio interface selection" might save me a minute on setup. And it will also be nice...

Re: Six reasons why I love DP (and a few things I wish were better)
What I like is the basic approach taken by DP. If you understand music, a mutitrack tape recorder, and a mixer with a lot of routing options, you can figure out most things in DP. Other DAWs, Logic in particular, introduce a lot of clever, but in the end, pointless new concepts that have little or ...

Re: Six reasons why I love DP (and a few things I wish were better)
4. Comfortable Though I have other apps for little tasks, I don't hesitate to open DP for even little things. I can get things done quickly and with ease. Oh yes, totally. When I need to edit a little bit of audio or bounce something quickly, I open DP. My least favorite things about DP: 1. Crashy ...

Six reasons why I love DP (and a few things I wish were better)
I started using DP around 2000—I think 2.7 was the first version I bought. I wanted to do some basic multi-track editing at home to avoid paying an engineer for the time-consuming process of fine-tuning my drum performances. I chose DP largely because Pro Tools at the time required a hardware interf...

Re: Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10? SOLVED
I had a bit of help from the MOTU support team to solve this. They recommended checking View>Show Only Active Edit Type Now, actually, that was already checked. I tried unchecking it, and checking it again. No luck. But then I tried checking Show Only Selected Types (Quick Filter), and the draggable...

Re: Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10?
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, so that's exactly how I've been doing it for many years. But I'm no longer seeing the markers in the conductor track. But I guess you've confirmed that the feature hasn't disappeared. So maybe there's a preference I'm missing somewhere.

Re: Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10?
Oo, good idea. (And I had never heard of the view filter.) But alas, markers is in fact checked. Thank you, though.

Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10?
Hi there. I used to be able to drag markers in the sequence window by showing the conductor track. The markers would appear not only in that track ruler but also in the conductor track, and I could just drag the markers wherever they need to go. But lately (maybe since I moved to DP10?) the markers ...

Re: Best way to align/sync video to recorded audio
Howabout this: Drag music to the nearest beat, use conductor track for tempo/meter, set correct tempo/meter at downbeat, then play with tempo/meter before the music starts until you line it up. Kludgey, but doable. Ah, this is a next-level tip. I'll have to fully digest this advice and try it out. ...
