Re: Logitech MX Keys Mac

I own one. It's a good keyboard, similar to an apple extended keyboard. It feels a _little_ different, not better or worse, just different. If you can go to a best buy or similar store you might be able to feel the keys. There is one small thing that could be a bother that has to do with the bluetoo...

Re: Guide to making MIDI Express XT compatible w/Big Sur

Thank you so much karmi. I can confirm that these steps also work for the MOTU Fastlane MIDI interface. Finally - it's working in Big Sur.

Re: MOTU DP 10, MOTU hardware and macOS Big Sur 11.x

FWIW, MOTU has updated their Big Sur compatibility page to show that many of their interfaces are not yet compatible with MacOS Big Sur. They are also listing DP, DP Lite, and their virtual instruments as not yet compatible. Hopefully they'll have a fix soon.

Thanks for the reply, mothra. Unfortunately it's not plugged into a hub - it's straight into one of the usb ports on my mac mini.

Re: MOTU DP 10, MOTU hardware and macOS Big Sur 11.x

I'm unable to get my MOTU MIDI drivers working in Big Sur. I was able to run the installer (MOTU MIDI Installer 1.6 (82544).pkg), but it doesn't prompt me to enable the driver in the Security & Privacy system prefs as mentioned in this MOTU tech note: https://motu.com/techsupport/technotes/enabl...

Re: create project

One nice thing about keeping projects on the external drive is that you can easily plug it into another system. I sometimes collaborate in this way with a friend who also uses DP. Then again, if the project references plug ins or VIs that your collaborator doesn't have, it probably won't work.

Re: reliability of CD burning from DP

I just realized that Adobe Audition CS6 has some nice CD burning functionality. Since I already own it, I might give it try.

Re: reliability of CD burning from DP

Thanks for your thoughts. Cuttime, I'm still on DP 7, but soon to be on 8. Just using regular CD-R media, Memorex I think. Burning from DP has been smooth for me and so far I'm able to play back CDs on the few devices I've tried. Shooshie (and others) you make a good point about dedicated CD burning...

reliability of CD burning from DP

I love DP's cd burning functionality. It's so nice to be able to set up tracks in a timeline and burn to disc. I'm just wondering if any of you have opinions about the reliability of masters burned in DP? In the past I've used other software (toast or itunes) to create the master disc. This project ...

Re: Another Channel Strip thread

I don't own Alloy, but I do own MH ChannelStrip. The sad fact is that I almost never use it. It provides the basics of a channel strip, but I always end up preferring the sound of the Waves plug ins I own (specifically the renaissance eq and compressor). Also, just looking at Alloy, it seems like it...

Very fun to read this post, and compare to the complaining over on GS. I'm feeling very proud of DP right now.

Re: Pitch Quantize

Thanks. That's really cool that the transpose functions work for audio. I just tried it and it's helpful.

I wish there was a "contrain to scale" checkbox option when performing a regular "quantize pitch" command.

Anyone have a way to quantize pitch to specific key? This would be a real timesaver.

Re: NAMM report

Since 2007, in M5v2 you can't assign more than 1 mod source to the filter freq cutoff. That's pretty basic functionality for someone trying to create patches. No update/fix in 4 years? And that's just one bug. I don't blame developers for staying away from M5. But the amazing thing is this: I own Ko...
