dropped notes on playback
I'm converting all of my MIDI sequences to Mach V for my live gig. I have a V rack with 3 instances of Mach V and 2 of EZ drummer. I noticed today that notes are being dropped in Mach V. For example a snare on 2 and 4 would drop out every other measure. I know it is just Mach V because when I switch...

Re: converting MIDI files into internal sounds for live gig
We'll I bought Mach 5. Unfortunately it arrived the day before our vacation. I had time to install it but no time to test anything. I did take manual to read on flights. Looks like setting up a chunk with v-racks is the way to go. But here's my next question.. I have up to 16 MIDI tracks at a time f...

Re: converting MIDI files into internal sounds for live gig
Thanks for all the info. Here is what I currently have working. I open one large sequence in DP that I have loaded almost 400 chunks into that are all of my individual MIDI songs. I then assign a key command for each song. So for example if someone asks me for Hey 19 I look at my master list and hit...

Re: converting MIDI files into internal sounds for live gig
Thanks, I've used DP in my recording studio for years but I've never used virtual instruments. Is Mach V a good package to buy for this purpose? Will it also do a good job for drums or do I need a specific drum package? The gig I lost was a solid 50% of my income so I'm trying not to spend more than...

converting MIDI files into internal sounds for live gig
For my live gig I have about 400 MIDI files that I have sequenced in dp and send out to various drum machines and modules. Is it possible to convert all of those to trigger internal sounds (software samplers, synths, etc)? I know I will need a faster computer than what I am currently using but I jus...

Re: need help upgrading DP, OS, etc.
I'd buy a 120 or 240 GB SSD and install the latest OS and DP on it, maintaining your current OS drive as a backup. You can always start from it for legacy projects. DP8.04 has been extremely solid for me in 64 bit mode under 10.8.3. Waves 9 is perfect with DP8; no more iLok with the Waves cloud aut...

export for mixing in pro tools
Is there a way to bounce all files to disk for mixing in another platform without tediously going through each tack and bouncing one at a time? I have a large project (each of the 10 songs has a minimum of 30 tracks with tons of punch-ins) and it is going to be mixed at another studio that uses prot...

PCI-e which slot?
Just got my new mac and had to update to the 424 pci-e card. Mac manual says slots 1 and 2 are x16 pci-e 2.0 and slots 3 and 4 are x4. Which slot do I install the new card in?
Thanks

which new mac pro?
I currently have an old dual processor G5 machine that I need to update. I run a commercial studio and routinely run 24 to 36 tracks all day long. I do all my mixing through 2 Tascam DM 4800 consoles. I use the EQ and compression and fx in the consoles most of the time so I rarely stress my current ...

Re: format hard drive
The old machine is a dual processor G5. It is fully capable of running 10.4.x but the problem is that I have been lucky enough to be busy in the studio and I don't want to update and then find that something isn't working right. My current system is insanely stable. I run 20 to 50 24 bit audio track...

format hard drive
How do I format a hard drive so my studio computer (system 3.5) and my laptop (system 5. can both read it? I'm planning on updating the studio computer whenever a new mac pro comes out and I'd like to be able to transfer projects easily.
Thanks

I agree with Brad. I have a DM4800 and 2 2408's It works great with DP. I also bought an extra tdif card (don't buy the adat card I had 2 and couldn't get either of them to sync with DP). I have the 3 tdif I/O's that come with the board hooked into my first 2408 and the Adat and the new tdif card in...
