Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

More complicated- that's something to look forward to... I'm still in the process of updating/reauthorizing all my plug-ins- fun fun fun. Once I get that done I'll be able to run this machine through the paces. Hopefully the gains will justify the investment of effort and expense... Thanks for...

Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

I had installed the 73220 software 5 or 6 times. But With help from MOTU tech support, I found the problem! He sent me to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and on the top menu (General) there was a notification on the bottom half of the page that said the software was being blocked. Checke...

Re: Does anyone know where I can obtain PCIe 424 drivers?

With help from MOTU tech support, I found it! Went to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and on the top menu (General) there was a notification on the bottom half of the page that said the software was being blocked. Checked it and Viola! it loaded and is working now! It's hard to get good ...

Re: Does anyone know where I can obtain PCIe 424 drivers?

That's the 2408 MK3 MOTU Audio Installer that I used and reinstalled several times- Version: 73220, Release Date: July 1, 2017. I did a fresh install of Mac Mojave OS 10.14.6 on a new SSD. In the system report the mid 2012 machine recognizes the PCIe 424 card but on the Driver Installed line it says...

Does anyone know where I can obtain PCIe 424 drivers?

The PCIe 424 driver download is nowhere to be found on MOTU's web site. I'm "upgrading" from my early 2008 8 core 2,8Ghz Mac Pro running ElCapitan to a 2012 12-Core 3.46 Ghz Mac Pro running Mojave. My intent is to utilize my three 2408 MK3's, one 24I/O, a PCIe 424 card and MIDI timepiece M...

Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

I was able to get 10.14.6 Mojave up and running with the new SSD and dual displays so that part is fine. Turns out you can only have ONE display connected when loading and updating the Mojave software. My next hurdle, the Mac doesn't see the PCIe card. In System Information it shows up on the list a...

Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

Along with the 2012 Mac I just bought, the seller included a flash drive with Mac OS High Sierra and Mojave on it. Since I have no information on the age or service hours that are on the 6G 1-TB SSD that came in the used Mac, I thought it would be a good idea to install a new OWC Mercury Ele...

Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

Thank you both. I'll have to wait to see which version of Mojave is loaded on it and go from there.

Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I can source an earlier version of Mac OS (High Sierra?) without too much difficulty if Mojave is an issue, and the GTX 680 video card will be supported. No turning back now...

Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

Thank you HCMarkus. I took one of your earlier suggestions, did some research and found a 2012 Apple 12 Core 5,1 Mac Pro 3.46GHz + 128GB RAM + 1TB SSD + 4TB HD + GTX 680 with Mac OS 10.14 Mojave. Not an ideal situation, and way more RAM than I need, but the fastest 2012 machine I could track down. I...

Re: New Mac Pro and PCIe card compatability

The 24 Ai and Ao offerings may indeed be better with their ESS Sabre32™ converters, however the 24io has 24 inputs AND 24 outputs. This requires buying two units (1-24 Ai and 1-Ao) to have the same I/O as the 24io. Further, the "equivalent replacement" (828) for the 2408 Mk III has one les...

I'm in the US, so that wouldn't be practical. Can't win 'em all I guess. Appreciate the sentiment though! Thanks for the response. That's quite an avatar picture BTW!

Anyone have a Mac Pro 2012 3.46 mhz 12 core desktop that they would sell me?

I have three 2408 MK 3's and a 24IO that I'm running in my Mac Pro early 2008 8-core 2.3 MHz with 16 MB of installed RAM. I'd like to upgrade to a new Mac Studio or Mac Pro but the $$$ just isn't there right now. Especially since my interfaces are all obsolete and will have to be replaced, as well a...

Re: PCIE 424 card in a Mac Pro early 2008 intel- X4 or X16 PCIE slot?

Today I received and installed the 1TB 6G SSD with PCIE adapter in my early 2008 8core Intel mac. Went in easily- all I had to do was format the drive after start up. Unfortunately it didn't help the crashing when I open a new project (without first closing the previous one). It does load the projec...
