Re: Live Recording would love some feedback

Re: Live Recording would love some feedback by csiaudio » 29 Nov 2011 03:00 pm Man excellent suggestion Wayne - I used Izotopes Alloy to duck the GTR freq's (4 to 7k) on both Gtr's using the vocal to trigger it and it is exactly what it needed! Not that you want to listen to it again but the new fi...

Re: Live Recording would love some feedback

Nice job, csi. It's a good song, nicely arranged and very well played by talented musicians and the singer is really good. OK, no one is perfect, but that wasn't even an issue for me in this production, she really delivered an amazing performance. Did she do the background vocals too? My only critic...

Re: Problem With Sample Rates ...

Could it be insufficient RAM? 2 GB doesn't seem like very much anymore.

Re: Slow down a soundbite

Only vari-speed can correct for vari-speed abuse (i.e. restoring the original pitch and duration of an analog soundbite that was digitally recorded from an off-speed analog playback machine). I'm pretty sure that's what the original poster was looking to accomplish.

Re: Slow down a soundbite

There is no simple, clean and direct way that I know of in DP to get a basic adjustable "speed change" of playback of a soundbite. There is, however, just such an effect plug that comes with Audacity, a moderately functional and easy to use DAW that's available FREE for the asking at http:...

Re: What audio interface do you use?

828 mkII with original Black Lion Audio mods to clock and analog I/O circuits. It's been working flawlessly for about 5 years.

Re: HARRISON MIX BUSS for only 79,99 Dollars!!!

I think the main point of using the Harrison would be to use the EQ's more than anything else. Perhaps their Pan law's are different too. In the late 70s I had occasion to work with a Harrison 3232 console as engineer in an artist's home recording studio. I noticed that a mono signal panned fully t...

Re: Record at 88.2 covert into 44.1

I've had great success with AudioMove 1.15 for sample rate and bit depth conversions. It's free, the conversions sound really good and now version 1.20 is available at

https://public.msli.com/lcs/audiomove/

I'm just now running a test on 1.20, it seems to be working fine.

by HCMarkus » 12 Sep 2009 12:08 pm I want to point out that a matched paid may or may not be desirable, depending on the situation. Unless going for a true stereo two-mic recording of a live performance, I often find an unmatched, even wildly dissimilar pair of mics works best to create an interest...

Re: DP 5 vs. DP 6

hi pines, i use a powerpc g5 as well, running OSX 10.4.11, and DP 6.02 works fine with it. i'm reluctant to go to leopard because tiger is still a happy cat with all the stuff i use the mac for. it's been purring for almost 5 years now. that said, i'm jonesing for a new machine. exactly why, i don't...

Re: Apogee VS Black Lion Mods

My 828 Mk2 was modded by Black Lion almost 3 years ago, replacing the mic pres and clock with their proprietary designs. The difference is remarkable. I've not used any Apogee equipment so I can't compare, but I'll say the Black Lion stuff is way good enough, not even considering the price differenc...
