Re: Mac randomly shuts down with UltraLite MK4 connected after installing Pro Audio driver v91429
Do you have any Microsoft Office installed? If so, what version and build? I have never seen this in a crash report without Office being installed. Also from your crash report: OS Version: macOS 11.6.8 Huh? MOTU is showing this driver for your OS: MOTU Pro Audio Installer Version: 80789 Release Dat...

If so, please check your latest Crash report after the kernel panic and look and see if the "USB driver" is mentioned? You'll find it some lines down in your report. Please check my post too, maybe we got the same problem with the drivers? https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...

When diagnosing, Find Any File.app can locate things that elude Finder/Find. It's shareware https://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/ so you can try for free. If you buy it from the App Store, update notifications are automatic. I have to just add quickly that FindAnyFile is absolutely indispensable for...

Re: Mac randomly shuts down with UltraLite MK4 connected after installing Pro Audio driver v91429
You're doing everything right but something is getting in the way. I'll assume that you've tried resetting the NVRAM and SMC. This is a bit of a Hail Mary but I would reset the Launch Services to Default to eliminate that as a cause. Reset Launch Services Yes, I did reset the NVRAM and SMC. I shoul...

Mac randomly shuts down with UltraLite MK4 connected after installing Pro Audio driver v91429
TL;DR: Has anybody else had random Mac shutdowns (with cause -3 "Multiple temperature sensors exceeded the defined limit" since installing MOTU Pro Audio v91429 from June 21, 2022? I've had my Mac Pro 2019 and UltraLite MK4 a couple years. Beside the horrible lag problem that made it impos...

Re: Latency problems in DP11???
Problem solved by MOTU tech support. :headbang: If anyone's curious, I had to set up an aggregate device with the built-in output of my Mac and the Apogee Jam...and then choose this new aggregate device in DP11's configure hardware setup window. I never would have thought of that solution in a mill...

Re: New Mac Pro 2019! So far so good.
I'd like to keep the USB3 ports for my 3.5" backup drives. Uhhhh right. No reason to do so. Platter speed is the bottleneck and USB 2 is no slower. If Time Machine, Ethernet is better — I find used My Cloud multi-drive enclosures on eBay. Takes 30 seconds and a Phillips screwdriver to swap dri...

For $1400 you can get a PC laptop that overheats and doesn't even leave you with any place to hang your hat.philbrown wrote:I'm starting from the ground up:

Seems reasonable.

Re: PCI 424 card drivers reqired for OS9
Hi, I have searched the MOTU site and cant find any drivers for OS9 for the PCI 424 card. Does any kind soul on here have the same card as me and perhaps the disc that came with? Or better a link to the last ever driver (ie latest) for OS9. Warmest regards I dug out my DP3 disc for OS 9 but it only...

Re: PCI 424 card drivers reqired for OS9
Wow. That's a long time ago. I still have the Dual 800 Mac I used DP 3.11 (?) on from ~2000. I kept it to use my Korg Oasys card which I've since moved to a PC. I don't think I had my 2048mk3 or PCI-424 back the though. I think I got that around OS X 10.2. I can dig it out and check the drive. Maybe...

Re: WHICH new Mac?
If I had the money but didn't have endless pockets,I would go for the 16 core. A decent system (1TB SSD, 96GB RAM) comes in at around 10K. I went with the 12-core, 2TB SSD, 48GB RAM version. It was about $8K. I budgeted a few K for internal SSD and M.2 PCIe cards and some other stuff like a graphic...

Re: New Mac Pro 2019! So far so good.
I wonder if my old FW cards would work... probably not. I haven't tried that yet. I have an old FW/USB2 card and just USB2 I was thinking about trying. I think they are PCIe. I don't really need FW anymore except for my old Traveler, but there is so much space in the Mac Pro right now it would be n...
