Re: Can't remove outdated MIDI destination from Project.

Ahhhhhh! Now I get it!! Yeah, it’s like DP misses it or something. No tracks were assigned to it anymore. I still own it. Maybe I’ll connect it up to the MIDI Express XT and they can have a little reunion. [emoji1787] By any chance, do you have NI's Absynth installed? Because as we all know, Absynt...

Re: Schitt DACs

Thanks. I guess their focus on the hifi market is why there aren’t many references in places like this. Very true. They haven't produced any products (as of yet) that are aimed at the pro audio community. Since their design and engineering skills seem to be top notch, I would love to see them try.

Re: Schitt DACs

Hi bayswater. I haven't heard that model, but I own one of their Asgard headphone amps, and it is a superb product. Overall, their products have gotten excellent reviews in the Hi-Fi press and online, and are known for "punching above their weight" in their respective price ranges. There a...

Just an FYI - Six new webinars have been posted on the motuTV YouTube channel. Now that's what I call "must see TV"!

MOTU M4 Firmware Version?

Is there a way to determine what firmware version is present on my M4? I noticed there was a firmware update posted this week; when I began the process of updating, the installer stated that the firmware on my unit was current. I checked the user guide (RTFM!) but could not find a way of determining...

Re: Data Backup Strategy

Thank you, Mike, I now have a much better idea how to configure my system. I can employ Time Machine to a greater degree, and gain more security in the process. Again, your help is much appreciated!

Data Backup Strategy

I remember reading a long time ago the statement "If digital information doesn't exist in three places, it doesn't exist", stating that at least 2 backup copies of data should be maintained. Is this still recommended? I currently have a Time Machine drive which backs up my system SSD drive...

Re: Ventura compatibilities?

You’ve probably seen the other posts a about this, but if you get the M2 Mini, make sure to get more than the 256GB internal storage. The read/write speeds are much slower than 512GB and higher. I did see that- thank you for the reminder, James! I may go with the 1TB storage, just to have some brea...

I would love to see this fixed also. My Late 2012 Mini has served me well, but it's days are numbered- I'm eyeing a M2 Mini, and will pull the trigger soon after this gets sorted out.

Thank you so much, James! I'll remember to use the BB Code next time. All the best with your new Mac, as well!

Soloing over the changes of "JoJo"

I recently saw a clip of Boz Scaggs performing his hit "JoJo" on a David Foster TV Special. Since I normally play over Jazz standards, I thought it might be fun to try a solo over this tune, which has quite an interesting Bridge section. Thanks in advance for checking it out!

Re: Mojave vs Catalina

I'm actually making guitar performance and instructional videos for my YouTube channel. My process is: I record my guitar, narration, and possibly a backing track from my iPad live into DP, while simultaneously recording the video on my iPhone. I'll play a muted guitar "attack" to serve as...

Re: Mojave vs Catalina

I am saving up for a new Mac, but until then, I need to make videos, so Catalina here I come. Unlike our fellow guitarist Rhett Shull, for me there IS a "Plan B", so I'll take Mike's advice and use Time Machine, just in case. Despite the lagging GUI, I was able to finish my video project, ...

Re: Mojave vs Catalina

One of the reasons to potentially go to Catalina over Mojave is there are reports of some users experiencing GUI slowdowns in Mojave on Intel MacPros running Mojave when using the Movie window. It's been reported to MOTU and they don't really have a fix. Going back down to High Sierra or up to Cata...
