Re: All AU plugins are missing

Yeah, but the patch was for users with three to four year old operating systems. And, the patch was for iOS compatibility. The fact it hosed AUs is surprising, to say the least. Clearly something was missed. I would have been happier, and much more forgiving, if iTunes simply warned me my machine wa...

Re: Movie Audio into DP is fantastic

Frank, Of course, you're right. I somehow forgot about that. I can see now how your method saves a step. I was using markers for cue starts in my master chunk, too, but I would navigate to them in the newly created chunk, set the new start time in the sequence and then move the audio. This does all ...

Re: Movie Audio into DP is fantastic

Yup, Frank, that works too. The thing I like about timestamps, though, is they give you some flexibility if and when you want to change the start time of a cue.

Re: Movie Audio into DP is fantastic

Oh yeah, that's always worked. But what about timestamped files that already live within the sequence? They should automatically snap to their timestamp when you shift the chunk start time, so long as they are track-locked.

Re: Movie Audio into DP is fantastic

I do understand time stamping (check my earlier post), but my audio doesn't budge until I make it budge my selecting "Move to Original/User Timestamp." What I don't understand is track locking in DP and how it applies to audio tracks. According to the manual, locked tracks should stay lock...

Re: Movie Audio into DP is fantastic

Yeah, I don't mind importing the audio. It's the constant shifting around that gets old fast. Every time you change a start time you have to shift the audio. Not a huge deal, and something I've gotten used to doing, but NOT having to do it would be more efficient. One thing I've never gotten to work...

Re: Movie Audio into DP is fantastic

I will continue to probably record audio into DP rather than import audio for every cue before I make QT files for the director. It takes longer to import audio for every cue of a 90 minute film and then cut off/throw away the parts you don't need than to record the 3 minutes you do need. Plus it e...

@Frodo

Yeah, I figured it was a longshot. Bummer that it's not working for you.

Re: DP8 - Greyed out Commands

Frodo, is it possible you have Audio Performance enabled in a "docked" control panel, but that it's getting pushed off your monitor to the side? I've noticed this will happen if you have lots of controls selected to show in the half-sized control panel. My list of goodies which include th...

Re: DP 8 feels sluggish compared to 7.24

That's not the correct shortcut to close just effects windows. Ah, now I know why I never used a key command to close ALL plugin windows. Because I never realized there was one. Thanks for the heads up. For those who want to know, the command is "shift-control-command w." A bit of a handf...

Re: DP 8 feels sluggish compared to 7.24

Looks like they recoded the "close all plugin windows" command to close ALL windows. So now, when I hit "option-close window" on a plugin to close multiple plugin windows, all my other windows close too. Bummer. That's unfortunate. You'll probably have to just use the keyboard s...
