Re: Stolen riffs, etc.
I worked for a small company that obtained the catalog of a deceased part-time blues writer from his daughter. Subsequently, we discovered a bit one of the songs he co-wrote was used in a LZ track...never credited. Settled for a decent sum without too much trouble (they had been through it before, o...

Re: Wireless sync forces me to reboot cable modem and router
Actually this is probably an online purchase for me? Any links to a suitable, but economical wireless router would be most appreciated. I can vouch for my D-Link DIR-615 (Hardware Version: E3, Firmware Version: 5.10). I got mine at Office Depot when they were on "sale" ("offer")...

Re: Wireless sync forces me to reboot cable modem and router
I used to have a WRT54G by Linksys (v8 I believe) that I used with both the stock firmware and DD-WRT. Heavy traffic would overwhelm the minute amount of RAM onboard and kill the wireless (wired still worked). I rebooted that thing a lot.

Try unsubscribing from Tickmaster. Impossible, apparantly.

I think I'd believe a guy who's heard the source tapes over some egghead's theory.

Maybe you could buy one in 16 years. That's what I did with a 1984 380SL.Mr. Quimper wrote:I would hate for them to discontinue them before I get a chance to afford one.

Hey! You're right. Haven't had a chance to test it. Maybe they heard me whining.NazRat wrote:They recently put out a Migration Assistant update for Leopard which may have fixed the network issue.

Re: Thunderbolt: no FW adaptors (or any for that matter) yet
MacBook Airs don't have a FW port at all, now. If you want to migrate from Leopard on your old Mac to Lion on your new MB Air, you'll either need a Time Machine backup, a cloned image of your old Mac, or an upgrade to Snow Leopard on the old Mac. There's no thunderbolt to FW adapter to access the FW...

Re: Windows 8 preview: is Microsoft on drugs? Buy Apple stoc
To me it just looks like "Windows 8" is just an app inside Windows 7 that runs little widgets that will probably perform functions similar to some iOS apps. Once he backed out of "Windows 8" the old ugly popped out.

If I'm wrong about what seems to be an obvious assessment, I would truly welcome your setting me straight. :) I can see where they are TRYING to go with it and it might be a good strategy on paper, but the execution and degraded user experience has caused many people I know to flee that place. Agai...

James,
I gotta say it's pretty funny to hear someone infer that the glory days of MySpace are over.

Re: Leopard on a PPC good idea or not?
I concur. If you decide to add a partition for 10.5 so that you can sync your device, make that partition small-ish. Also, there may be other apps you might want to use that are "10.5.8 or higher only". I have an old, CPU upgraded G4 that I ran Leopard on for a while, just for network lear...

Re: HELP! When Airport on I get the "beach ball"
Networking on the Mac changes with every OS change, of course.
Try looking at your Console Log and System Log Messages (Applications>Utilities>Console) after you reproduce the problem.
To be vague, something is probably looking for something and can't find it.

Re: i-Phone OS 4 problems
David...you are talking about a 3G, right? It's a different animal than the 3GS, Daniel. The 3G has 128MB of RAM and the 3GS has 256MB of RAM. My 3GS gets WAY below 128MB of free RAM when I'm switching between apps (most of which "multitask" by default in ios4). You can imagine what happen...
