Yes, Mackie tried to sue over the MX8000 wasnt it?

What I'd find amusing would be a new player to the world of audio equipment coming along and copying Behringer - warts-and-all!

That's one case I'd be in the public gallery for!!

Anyone have an old serial MTP they no longer want?

Just wondered - I'm still with my old G3 - even if it has a G4 board - so that means serial. I have a MIDI Express and Microexpress (prefer the latter in fact the Express was one of the older ones), but want an all-in-one 8 i/o unit. The price would have to be very good considering what they go for ...

Wow, things have moved up a level of maturity! When I first joined Unicornation back in ol' 2001-ish - I asked a very similar question about QT Instruments and basically got a load of slagging off along the lines of "What the hell are you using those for? Theyre noisy, crap-sounding blah blah b...

Seconded - or should I say Thirded!

If folk thought I was tretching the thread out it was just that, since I started it, I was away, and had plenty to read - and respond to - when I returned.

But thanks for all the views anyway

One of the previous "Anyone got a PDF" threads (the Wesley one?) turned out to be very good in the end (as James noted at the time), but I made a small point (lost in all the chat, back-chat etc etc) about where MOTU source their paper from, which no-one picked up on - presumably becasue o...

Amazing how threads (like music technology) can evolve. Started as a "share your thoughts on..." thing (an admittedly philosophical and nostalgic to some extent thread, which I accept James :) , and now we're on to Bach!! Having said that, I can see why. Just to add my grain of guff to thi...

I think MOTU should be praised for continuing to produce hard copies. I mean, I'm only on DP3 but it's comprehensive, easy to cross reference etc etc, and if you're new to DP, the "Getting Started" manual (I assume they still do this at DP5) is very handy. I can understand people wanting a...

Are we losing important skills by going "virtual"

I was reading James's post about going mixerless and it got me thinking (about time I know!). I know a lot of folk like to do it all in the virtual environment now - perhaps using an external controller - Mackie Control etc. But - (I know - NEVER begin a sentence with "But" - sorry Mrs Pro...

Well what the heck IS the answer then?

Ive got a Micro Express and a MIDI Express and wondered the same - then again theyre both serial not USB so maybe the methods are different.

Thanks for that information James. I'll pass it on to the Webmaster. To be honest I'm surprised they don't know about this - then again maybe they do and are still having problems. They are asking us to report spam posts straight away and I think most forum members are up to speed with that, but the...

Ive been away for a bit - has Unicornation had Pharma-Spam?

Just thought I'd ask, as another forum I contribute to (nothing whatever to do with music - except very loosely) has been plagued by single posts with links to Viagra and other stuff much more dodgy. They dont seem to be able to kick it in the teeth. I mention this because the look of the board is v...

Um, er, I know Ive been away for a while but what's this er "Thread?" doing in the DP section? I take it that was the point of the deleted posts then? It's just I thought policy here was quite strict about what went where etc? Not that I'm being critical, I just thought we had clearly defi...
