Re: Bias Peak -"Legacy" software question
If you look back on this forum you would see I regularly updated everyone on Bias Peak on each new iteration of Mac OS long after Bias Peak was supposed to be dead. I finally had to give it up when it ceased to work and reluctantly switched to DSP Quattro. I know nothing about VM but would be intere...

Re: PET PEEVE: macOS "forgets" Wallpaper pictures sometimes?
A few people advised me a while back to put the Mac to Sleep rather than turn off - that would help that problem - apparently it is better for the mac - I do it now but not sure if it is helpful or not.

Re: MOTU M6
Yes on the On/Off switch! Some of my older interfaces do not have this—what were those guys thinking? To add to this, I really like on/off switches that are mechanical!! That is, it's a physical switch that locks into place in either the on/off position and not some membrane button or digital encod...

Re: MOTU M6
In the end I plumped for the M4 which I think is great (silly how good it is to have an on/off switch on the interface). But the M6 was a serious consideration. Pleased I went with the Motu interface - the In/Out Balance control is also really useful.

Re: MOTU M2/M4 lacking dedicated power (iOS options)
I have the M4 myself - not sure how you would power the device without using the usb socket for connecting - I know the M6 has a separate mains power cable, but not sure how this could be achieved on the M4. I don't know of a split function cable but if anyone knows, it will be someone on this forum.

Re: MOTU M6
All the M2/M4 bus powered complaints I’ve seen are with iPadOS and the right powered hub makes that a non-issue. Mac/Win computers have been ok. The M6 may be bus or externally powered. Even ChatGPT didn't really know I guess that’s why they call it artificial intelligence. (Sorry, couldn’t r...

Re: MOTU M6
There seems to be some confusion by reviewers as to the mains supply - some say it only operates with mains power, some say it can do either bus power or mains power. Anyone have any idea what it correct? Even ChatGPT didn't really know! I would like to know in case I buy this M6 or the M4.

That is good to hear - thanks.Tritonemusic wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 5:10 pm I have my M4 connected directly into the back of my iMac Pro, and it works flawlessly. I never have problems with it losing power or anything like that. It works as expected. No regrets here, FWIW.

Re: Motu M4 USB C power issue questions
Thanks Mike - great info as usual and very helpful. I was hoping you would answer. I think this M4 is the one for me as I am just using my late 2015 iMac and inputting and recording guitar and vocals, and driving my Yamaha HS8's and the DT990 Pro headphones. This interface can also facilitate a head...

Re: Motu M4 USB C power issue questions
Thank you for your response - I will try and locate the thread - this is helpful if disappointing as some of the functionality like the mixing knob for playback/input is very useful.

Motu M4 USB C power issue questions
I am thinking of upgrading my interface from the Audient iD14 mk1 to a Motu M4 - it has a lot of features I would find much more useful. However, I have read about USB power issues - namely this is to do with USB C connectors when using with the USB 3.0 ports on my current iMac (Late 2015 on Montere...
