Re: MOTU DP 10 Webinars
... but I still learn a new thing or two in each one and/or, just as importantly, I'm reminded of something old I'd forgotten. It's also useful to get a glimpse of other DP user's workflows. That's how it is for me as well. So worth the wait I think. They end up being totally viable, extremely deta...

Re: MOTU DP 10 Webinars
I found the other webinars I've attended or watched a bit basic, but this one is full of gems. It makes sense that these excellent webinars mix it up to target new and long time users. I just wish they would make the webinars available sooner after the live events. The extensive list of topics from...

Re: Strip Silence
Question: if I find a setting that keeps a few sample of digital zero at the start and end of each soundbite, what would a cross fade add? Are you saying that I can't get them both perfect, so I'll have to crossfade one or the other with the silence before or after the soundbite? With a percussive ...

Re: Strip Silence
Digital zero in bounced tracks is easily removed with the default settings.
Trial and error is needed to get the right balance for preserving (attack) and cutting sound (release). Crossfades are always needed no matter what settings I use.

... The end conclusion of it all was the need to be able to FEEEZE a computer in time, WHILE IT IS WORKING. ...The ONLY way for Masters to be stable in a given computer, is for the user to have COMPLETE control over his authorizations. Subscription discussion aside, I strongly agree with your point...

Re: MOTU to drop DP update soon!
That's the difference with Bitwig's model, it's not forced and you aren't punished for taking a couple years off if you're happy with the version you have. The downside would be if they badly fixed something for 9 months out of that year, and you felt stuck on a version where your $150 got you in p...

Re: MOTU to drop DP update soon!
Not a fan of the subscription model. Wouldn't mind paying for more frequent updates and fixes though.
If subscriptions are forced, other non-subscription providers step in to fill the void.

Re: How to trigger two sounds left and right keyboard split
MidiPipe is a donation-worthy app.
It does indeed have a keyboard split function.
I think v1.5.6 is the latest version.

It looks like upgrading to High Sierra may help.

Re: And yet ANOTHER virtual B3 in town
My recollection is that it benefitted from being paired with PSP's Leslie plug-in, and that it was less dark sounding than the IKM VI. I remember that they improved the percussion in an update, and that it seemed more responsive and less baked-in. Thanks for sharing your impressions. Good to hear t...

Re: Catalina
Some thoughts and observations - The cost of a PC that matches or exceeds Mac specs will have a similar price tag. Look at prices from ADK and others that build custom PC for music production. - With knowledge and planning, building your own PC probably will cost less. But what if something goes wro...

I don't play keys, but have always loved the range of organ sounds in 60's pop-rock-soul music. MIDI guitar, sound modules or software, plus automation are in use here.

Re: Catalina
Honestly... I still miss Snow Leopard. When I was transitioning from SL, I had five clones of that system, just in case. Such was it's value to me. I'm now down to two that do get occasional use throughout the year. But yeah, there's no reason to update to Catalina. Nothing to be gained, and ...
