Apply preset to multiple Oscillators?

I'm working with a preset of MSI samples/oscillators in MachFive, but need to edit some of the oscillator parameters (setting loop sections, xfades, etc). Do I have to do this "by hand" to every oscillator in the instrument, or is there a way to apply my saved preset across the entire set ...

Re: Designing DMX Light Show in DP ... one problem ...

doug: Turns out that your "automation record" tip was just what I needed. I've been trying to find controller assignments, etc to no avail -- but just recording automation on a slider creates the insert and once I've got that insert, I can edit it to my hearts content. I thought I needed s...

Re: Designing DMX Light Show in DP ... one problem ...

Great. I may try this and reverse-engineer from there. Thanks so much.

Re: Designing DMX Light Show in DP ... one problem ...

Thanks for the info, Doug. Sounds like the operation you describe is the method I'm aware of -- the the resolution issue may be why that's the prescribed course by DMXIS documentation. In the past I've set up a console in DP to correspond to channels in a lighting board, with MIDI controllers signal...

Re: Designing DMX Light Show in DP ... one problem ...

Thank you so much for the information -- it will be helpful and I truly appreciate it. Truth be told, I've run a couple different lighting control boards off of MIDI from within DP before. My particular question has to do specifically with the DMXIS interface mentioned in the post. Although I have t...

Re: Designing DMX Light Show in DP ... one problem ...

I know this is an old thread, but if I get your attention, do you mind me asking: Were you controlling specific lighting channels through MIDI controller data in tracks of DP? I've been trying to find info on how to do that (as opposed to simply triggering DMXIS presets, which is mostly what is docu...

Re: Transfer part names from M5 to tracks in DP?

Thanks for the feedback. I was afraid that was just the case. You would think that, both being products of the same manufacturer, that MOTU would have some slick way to do this. But I guess when I have dozens of instruments playing out of my keys with every conceivable parameter controllable and edi...

Transfer part names from M5 to tracks in DP?

Sorry if this is a dumb question: Is there any way to automatically have my "patch" or part names from a MachFive multi show up on my DP tracks? Have M5 set up as a V-rack, and a DP MIDI track assigned to each of the 16 outputs. Must I physically rename each track or is there some way to h...

Re: Display more vertical grid lines in MIDI window...

wow.. thanks so much!! years of frustration, and I knew there had to be a simple solution that I was just missing. Not the first (or last) time I've felt really dumb

Thanks for your reply! On to editing...

Display more vertical grid lines in MIDI window...

Seems like this should be available, but I find nothing… When you choose a particular "snap-to" level for the MIDI note editor window, you see vertical grid lines corresponding to that division (i.e. quater-note, eighth-note, etc) If you uncheck snap-to for the window, these lines disappea...

update: how to use controllers in DP

Thanks for the response, joelmusic. I did find out that MSi responds to controllers drawn in the "Sequence Editor" window. I don't know why it wouldn't work in the grapic editor, unless I was doing something wrong. But if you do the correct enables, you can control individual part volume a...

"Penciling in" controllors in DP4.6

Why can't I just draw controllers (e.g. volume) into the sequence window and have MSI respond? If I do a "MIDI learn" for volume from a controller on my keyboard, it works with that controller only. My problem: only have pitch bend and modulator wheels on my keyboard. I want volume for an ...
