Re: Generating Timecode while DP plays?
I have learned the answer to this from MOTU's Tech Support, as well as testing it on a friend's system. I am posting my findings here, to benefit anyone else searching for this. I have verified that the 2408mkIII can generate timecode while DP is playing. There is an option in the MOTU SMPTE Console...

Re: Generating Timecode while DP plays?
Thank you for the responses! Tim: So, the 2408mkIII will generate SMPTE timecode while DP is playing? Remember, I don't want to stripe code to a track, I want to generate it in realtime as DP is playing. If you have done this with a 2408mkIII, then please confirm that. Thanks again!! Best wishes, Mi...

Re: Generating Timecode while DP plays?
** bump **
Surely there are DP users out there who are generating timecode with DP! Please chime in if you are.
Thanks,
Michael

Generating Timecode while DP plays?
Hello all, I have yet to figure out a way to generate SMPTE timecode AS DP IS PLAYING. I use Pro Tools regularly and generating timecode while playing can be very useful rather than having to print it to an audio track (especially under a deadline). Anyone have success in this area with DP? If you'v...

Re: Importing Giga samples
My two cents: I have MachFive and Kontakt. I tried importing the same GigaStudio samples into both formats, to see which one handled the conversion properly. The winner? Kontakt, hands down. Don't get me wrong, I love MachFive and prefer to use it. It handled my Roland, SampleCell, Akai, etc. import...

Re: Kurzweil conversions
One of the common problems importing Kurzweil discs. Many of the Kurzweil patches have a blank sample called "InRom". After this blank sample goes through UVIXtract, UVI saves it as a 4KB file called (surprise) "InRom.wav". This sample is too small for MachFive to deal with. So f...

Re: Re-organizing Mach5 library
My experience has been that you can reorganize the Presets, but you cannot change the directory structure of the Samples after they have been imported. MachFive is very strict about the Samples directory! Remember to "Rescan Soundbank" or "Rescan MachFive Sounds folder" after mov...

Re: MachFive error -30605
OK, everyone please disregard my previous post. After importing some more old SampleCell discs, I have finally figured out why I keep getting Error 30605. Some of the old SCII discs have SOUND DESIGNER 1 files. Since Sound Designer 2 is an established standard, UVI-Extract was programmed to identify...

Re: MachFive error -30605
New info: Additional Research on Missing Samples (error 30605): OK, this is frustrating. Here is an example: On the "SampleCell II•„•" CD-ROM, there is an instrument (preset) called "Analog". The directory path for the instrument is: SampleCell II•„• --> Instruments --> Synths --...

Re: MachFive error -30605
Same problem here. Seems to have something to do with the directory path being different from the original sample library CD-ROM. I have yet to figure out how to fix it though.
Good luck!
Michael
