Why can't I mute MIDI notes with the mute key?
Am I missing something, or is the MUTE key invalid in the MIDI editor? Why can't I mute individual MIDI notes?
Thanks,
Sam

Re: Is there any easier way to do this?
Thank you for this discussion. I, too, love DP's pitch automation. It is one of the most accurate sounding. I have Melodyne, Auto-Tune, Cubase 8 (pro), and have worked with all of these and their various pitch options. What I was simply trying to do was avoid manually having to tighten up every trac...

Re: How would you setup a variable speed playback for practi
There is a little program called CAPO. It slows things down or speeds things up, changes pitch and works fantastic.
Just get it. Cheap and is just what you are looking for.

Re: Is there any easier way to do this?
I don't think you guys are understanding my question. I get DP's pitch, I get AutoTune and I get Melodyne. I own both of these. The normal procedure with an external AutoTune rack unit is play the passages in, hit the bypass key at times when it wont work and re-record to new tracks. This was the no...

Re: Is there any easier way to do this?
I don't think I was clear. I am using AutoTune in the channel inserts. I want to bounce in place using AutoTune, not the DP Pitch apply.
I think what you are describing is the DP pitch automation built in, not the channel insert for AutoTune.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Is there any easier way to do this?
Greetings, all. What I am speaking of is this: I put AutoTune on a track to use the automatic setting and listen, to see how the automatic side of AutoTune works. Then, section by section I bounce to disc, and file by file, build a new take in a track with all the AutoTune pitch corrected files. I t...

Re: Creating MIDI Regions in Sequence Editor?
I understand the OP's original dilemma: They are called regions in Logic, parts in Cubase and parts in Studio One. They are containers for a series of stuff. I, too, like the concept of having these containers. They can quickly be grabbed, copied, pasted, duplicated and data can be manipulated very ...

Re: Any advantages to using a MOTU interface with DP8?
I used a Motu hd192 system for years in my home. At church (used weekly) I have an 828 m3 with 2 8 pre units to expand inputs. Solid as a rock. The monitoring is great through the CueMix software in both setups. The hd192 was PCI based, the 828, Firewire based. In September of last year I bought a n...

Re: Comping and muting the previous take during new punch ta
Shoshie, A thousand thank yous, my DP brother. Your tips and suggestions in this post have helped me understand the take and comping system. This has been one of those "duh" moments. I didn't ever think of the concept of promoting whatever take lane I wanted to work on, to the top track la...

Re: Comping and muting the previous take during new punch ta
Correction, come to think of it, you can't disengage a track from record mode in DP with the transport running.
Sorry about my error and misstatement.

Re: Comping and muting the previous take during new punch ta
Shooshie, Thank you, sir. Yes, please send the process and commands. I work in DP because I like how it sounds and the cool ways the consolidated window allows me to see side panes and stuff. I read through your options for me and I guess what I want to do is be able to keep each take intact and hav...

Re: Comping and muting the previous take during new punch ta
Folks, Thanks for all of this, but back to my original question and the context of the question. I record a vocal pass on the audio track. I want to keep that audio track, but maybe do a second take. I want to do a second take because the singer might give me something better the 2nd time. Alright, ...

Re: Comping and muting the previous take during new punch ta
Thanks for that, but I don't describe that as simple. I'm coming here from another daw. When you punch a track, set up the locators around the area, when the "in" comes the old track drops out and doesn't come back until the "out" locator is reached. I'm going to mess with this s...
