Re: Apple IS tracking your iPhone locations? REALLY!`

In a sense any 'are they or aren't they?' questions over tracking in gadgets is moot simply because of RFID technology (and eventually nano technology). Already clothing manufacturers are about ready to start putting RFID technology in clothing items. Other applications such as food and drug/ toilet...

.... I wish I could see something positive. Anybody who has something to throw out there that's a silver lining I'm willing to listen. The way I see it, the problem is that we are in the middle of a process which has not run its course yet. Several processes in fact. Personally, I can't wait for mu...

Re: MIDI control change in VSL

You're welcome! :D .... oh wait, you said Frodo.. But seriously, that was an interesting explanation - I always thought breath control was just like any other CC but called 'breath' out of mapping convention. I've got to admit I'm slightly confused now ..... but will do some research.... Anyw...

Re: MIDI control change in VSL

I'm not sure what's going on in the demo you mention - and I think my templates are probably set up different to the standard mapping (but I forget how exactly) - is this a downloadable demo MIDI file you're talking about? But anyways, Vienna Instruments has a velocity crossfade feature which blends...

Re: Latency Compensation issue with parallel aux tracks.

Quick scan of thread only (I'm just about to take the dogs out for a walk and they know it!) ... but when problem occurs do you have any rec enabd tracks feeding the problem auxes? ADC only works with disc audio obviously... also some plugs don't report .. but you say it is sporadic so prob not that...

Re: "Glee" Throws Lifeline to Music Industry

The big hit was Katy Perry's Teenage Dream. I wouldn't allow my own kids (if I had them) to listen to this music: The music these days.... Those Katy Perry lyrics are not so good, but need I remind everyone of the "Whole Lotta Love" lyrics? Musically there's no comparison but lyrically I ...

Re: backing tracks & click track

A friend of mine does his backing tracks for live gigs on DVD, using some surround format--I think maybe it's 5.1, but it might be 7.1. The mono channel being the one he uses for the drummer's click, two of the other outputs are for the room, and some combination of the others are used as cue mixes...

I couldn't figure out what the purpose of the choking thing was from reading about it!..... I'll have another read today..... after another coffee.... Love Taiko BTW ... and beyond playing Taiko 'as is' I've found there's a whole world of possibilities in the many and varied direct mics - both 'clea...

Re: backing tracks & click track

Apologies for jumping in on your thread Brian, but does anyone here know of a more 'rugged' and gig-able alternative to macbook/ DP/ 828 which can playback 6 to 8 mono outs? (I'd consider 4 if it was cheap enough and/ or had an additional separate headphones output/ mix). Although my set up works ve...

Re: BFD 2.2 just out -- MAJOR release, 2x as big, Intel-only

The details of what is in this update are apparently only posted in their forum so far. I don't have time to visit as I have to rush off to a session. I'm definitely curious to find out what has changed in this release, as it looks the same to me so probably it is all performance improvements and b...

Re: The Longest, Most Inconsistently-Off-Topic Thread in His

OMG this thread is still going! Heeeey, MM - long time no post! I got half way through reading your last post and started hearing De Niro's voice and the sound of heavy rain in my head ... so I've reworked it in the manner of Travis Bickle ('Taxi Driver') ....... hope you don't mind! Classic...
