Re: Timing audio - where am I going wrong?

........ I'll bet, at the time of writing this, I am the only human being ever to hear drums straightened in this fashion. ... Actually, I think I saw it done on an episode of Dr Who* once :D .. Interesting thread - I think I need to sit down and read it all the way through though..... * oh ...

Re: Best way to create stems?

Ahhhh that's good stuff, thank you! This will save me loads of time on my next piece :-) It probably should have been obvious, but its one of those things, when you get used to a certain way, its scary to just try something different sometimes, even if your current way is taking way too long hehe H...

Re: Best way to create stems?

Very cool. Yea I knew that the multi outs were there, but I didnt see where they mapped to. Can you explain? Example: I have a V-rack with an instance of VE. The output of the V-rack goes to bus 51-52. Now in VE if I have say Violin 1, violin2, and viola in this instance, generally they are all out...

Re: Vienna Suite - thoughts/ alternatives?

Thanks all for the comments. I was very impressed, it's like the kind of suite you'd just want to have included in your ideal DAW :D .... which is not to say DP doesn't have some great stuff already. Now they've just updated to 1.1 .. even more tempting. No mention of any half price sale though.... ...

Re: Best way to create stems?

This is probably missing the point entirely - but at least as far as VE is concerned, can't you just set up multi outputs from VE and record them all in one pass? (or in my case on a G5: however many passes it takes to ensure no CPU clipping and smooth sample streaming). It sounds like you have eve...

Re: The Thread

worth the friday chuckle... http://lookatthisfuckinghipster.tumblr.com/ OK I'm going to take this harmless (and admittedly quite funny) link and run with it (and hopefully stray more than a little OT as well) and say I am officially done with this fad for all things 'fail'. OK so I know you're not ...

Re: One of those AAAAggghhh! mac help threads

Thanks MLC, as soon as I get this project done I'll get on it. Bizarrely, K2 has self authorized itself again and startup also seems smoother/faster again with no freezes all last night. Still worth getting to the bottom of this and fixing. Cheers!

One of those AAAAggghhh! mac help threads

AAAAggghhh! Major system failure - would be really grateful for any insight here guys! The internet's been down in sympathy for a couple of days too so, it's just back on so I can start my own research but am posting here in case anyone recognizes what this is. I was busy on a project the other nigh...

Re: can't save - please help!

Yeah, it comes and goes with me too! And like I said it's never been frequent enough to really bother me, especially now I know how to get out of it.

I have added it to my list of 'minor system foibles' :D

Re: can't save - please help!

I've had this come up but it's always been to rare an occurrence to investigate (for me). My solution is to make a change in the project - although part of this symptom is some changes do not create an 'unsaved state' (when under normal operation they would) so you have to make a change that makes D...

Re: To You Remix Gurus...

My wrong currency 2 pence.. Recently, well a couple of years ago, I discovered the power of remixing my own material and it's been a real revelation. At best I tend to not care for the 'art' of remixing and at worst it makes me furious in a way no other music can! But I also have to admit - and it's...

Re: Speaker Phone 2 upgrade out, any takers?

It looks great - I do use speakerphone quite a lot but the new features aren't quite 'must haves' in my opinion (defined as needing them before hearing about them .... of course I want them all now !!!). But having said that it does look to have a lot more creative potential + the usual added snappy...

Re: Sticky Situation

Telling the truth is the best way to go. Nooooooooooooooooooo! OK have pondered this and I think I have solution. Announce new concept for band of a two drummer line up. When 2nd drummer is up to speed gradually reduce parts for original drummer to play. When stage space is tight suggest 'ma...
