Re: MOTU has to get VI handling (and CPU usage) on point NOW

That's a bit like making a decision of being an artist or a professional..an artist will choose to work with the tools that inspire him, and a professional will choose whatever tool is available to execute a task. I'm not saying the two ways of working exclude each other, they might even compliment...

Re: MOTU has to get VI handling (and CPU usage) on point NOW

I've always relied on DP for my programming needs because I love all the real time MIDI processing and how musical it is. But that foundation is being shaken for me after trying a rival software that easily handles 4-5x the amount of virtual instruments without even breaking a sweat. Whatever it is...

Re: Best Mastering Plug-In

I'm using MW Compressor into MW Limiter. One client called me "Too Low-Fi for Broadcast." I am aware that it's how you set these things that separates the Silk from the Crunch, but I'd just like to find out here, what people are using, and like the best. Thanks! Some years ago, when I use...

Re: New Macbook Pro

Thanks and congrats to you too, I'm sure it's hard to regret getting the RMBP :) I read a bunch of reviews and for the time being there seems to be some compatibility issues, that at least prevent getting the most out of retina. The engadget reviewer says Right now, seemingly every third-party app o...

Re: New Macbook Pro

I had looked into getting a MBP for some months, and now after the upgrades it was time to make a decision. Out of the new pack, the RMBP seemed like a winner because the price difference was only 400, for which you get +4GB RAM, SSD, and the display etc. The downsides are no FW, no superdrive, no u...

Re: Displays/Monitors - what to buy?

I just got a Samsung s27a750d which is a full hd 120hz led display. I got it for gaming at 120hz, but I have to say the 120hz combined with exceptionally fast response time makes everything feel smoother and more natural than on any system I've used before. I think we'll see Apple adopt the technolo...

Re: Ozone 5 and Ozone 5 Advanced are here (discount < 1 DEC)

I might find a preset that really tightens the bottom end or shines the top, (or does both). And it saves me lots of work. Perhaps it makes 8/10ths of the mix I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF, sound absolutely fabulous, but the acoustic guitars now sound too bright. OK, well, to save time, I will just dull th...

Re: DP8 (or next version) speculation?

There have been rumours that Magic has said something about a new customizable menu and a window set, that would take advantage of hyper threading, allowing you to update your Facebook profile straight from within DP.
